Just like with Wagtail 5.1 prior, the Wagtail 5.2 release candidate was our most downloaded release candidate ever. And it also had the second-highest adoption levels of people using the existing latest stable release before the new one would come out. Yay!

@wagtail Hiya 👋 I'm trying to gauge the compatibility with the upcoming Django 5.0. The docs currently have...

... but the tests are running against 5.0 as well, so I'm thinking Wagtail 5.2 (LTS) is already compatible? Not 100% sure how to tell? 🤔 Thanks 🙏

@carlton hey Carlton, thanks for reaching out! Thibaud here. I think we believe it’s compatible (as the tests show), but we didn’t feel able to announce that formally / update our version ranges until the Django 5.0 final release. I’ll double check what others think though.

@carlton I have asked @gasman, who confirmed what I said above. And there’s possibly room for us to be less conservative in the future. And for 5.2 specifically, we may have a 5.2.1 patch that formalises support (TBC).
