I was looking for to help with this project I'm working on... I posted here and on the bird site... but I had to delete my post there in about 10 minutes because I was getting so much spam from anime avatars who ALL refused to show their work and kept asking me to dm them. Anybody know what that's all about? Felt like a scam of some kind, but I'm not sure what.

I got curious, so I did some math. It's more dangerous to be a landscaper than a cop in the USA.
Landscapers 25 deaths per 100k
Cops 19 deaths per 100k
... And cops killed 1300 or so a year.
Just numbers with no comments.

I need to hire someone to help with tilesets and assets for a secret project. I'm looking for 16-bit/snes/dos quality.. and detailed style (think blackthorne, flashback, actraiser, etc.). The vibe is nature mixed with apocalyptic 80s cyberpunk.
Foreground tiles are 32x32. Game screen res is 320x180. Characters are 40-50px tall. Feel free to share this post... Artists can message me with samples/questions. Cheers!

I'm not very good, but I slapped this tileset together as an example of the direction we're taking.

I actually lose respect for people when they respond to corporate work emails on weekends or days off. LIVE YOUR LIFE. Play a game, have some fun, recharge. If I write you on Friday, I don't expect a reply until Monday or Tuesday.

@iinavpov It's anxiety caused by stress... Our bodies assign importance to things that do not matter and it keeps us from proper rest. I struggle with it too, and I did talk to a therapist. Obviously, there are exceptions, but still. We gotta try to mentally break free from this stuff that can wait.

At this point I hope crashes and burns so badly that they are basically forced to make the engine portion open source. It's gross their their stock went up after they fired 1800.

@casey yeah... I sold it to someone who thinks they can fix it. I REALLY miss it, but it was too blurry to use. I'll look for another one in Japan or Taiwan. I shouldn't have gotten this one because I am still trying to move... but YES I SHOULD HAVE! lol

A while back we made a little emulation console (no os included), but it was just a re-branded system I produced just for me really... I wanted something faster than the Raspberry Pi 3 and 4.

However, what I really want now is a little system with a TV output (s-video or RGB)... and a vga output. It could probably be achieved with an analog VGA out and an adapter cable... with some timings and such tweaked in the firmware.

I know there's the MiSTer FPGA option, but I'd be happy with software emulation for $200ish. I mean, it wouldn't be as perfect, but maybe close enough and less than half the price. You could just install retroarch or batocera or whatever... turn on run-ahead to kill any latency, and it could be good.
Should I look into something like this when I'm in Taiwan talking to a few companies? Would anyone care?

OH, the Sen Pi units are all sold out and I probably won't make anymore... they're collectors items now!
