I used to beat myself up over not finishing projects, until I learned that I have . My interests and motivation shift severely on a daily basis, which isn't really compatible with long term commitment.

I'm now trying to lean into it and enjoy the process of creation while putting less value in completion. Capitalistic society wants us to value the "finished product" above anything else - that doesn't mean I have to.

More infinite terrain shenanigans:

The prop spawner can now place tens of thousands of objects performantly, well enough to stream in whole forests and grass. The whole system is deterministic too, so if the player returns to a location, the props should be exactly as they were originally generated. All in GDScript!

With the basic procedural systems now in place, I want to start working next on the tooling to integrate hand crafted assets. Then maybe actually make a game?

Working on an infinite terrain system for - with collision and LODs. The goal is to be able to place custom heightmaps around the terrain so that I can build hand crafted locations within an infinite landscape.
