The meme doesn't say most or a large percentage of Democrats are haters. It says it attracts people who hate all those things. When we're talking about millions of people, I won't dispute that many are "haters". Every large group has this problem. It says much less about all Democrats than it does about someone who would create a meme that tries to frame an entire party this way, or share this meme.

Humans have a really hard time accepting reality. That everything is just a series of events kicked off by something like the big bang. Our knowledge is a collective best guess. Nobody is in control of society. We're all equal players. People avoid acknowledging this, and therefore responsibility, by making up gods and conspiracies. We live our lives mostly in distanced superficial narratives, until the death of someone we shared a close empathy with, shakes us awake. This is real.

but they still don't seem to get the need to decentralize off any platform. to run their own videos ala @peertube. if they did, maybe they'd help with development. I guess Bongino does with his investment in Rumble but that's the wrong model.

how do you decide to criticize the m5m reporting? it's a problem when they claim shit you disagree with "without evidence" right? do the same thing.

Trump is working with Putin to steal the election is wrong to say but Gates is working with Fauci to reduce the world population is fine. you should be allowed to say either but apply the same standards on yourself you'd want them to use.

the last podcast I had with @sirseatsitter was about the AJ case. that I didn't know if I agreed with the ruling or amount, but people shouldn't do what he did regarding those families. that he should know the pain he would cause and like I said about J6 above, you only say it if you think the resulting actions you're understandably supporting are worth it.

there isn't a they. there's an infinite Venn diagram of competing interests, many of them selfish assholes (which makes any large scale secret plots very difficult to sustain). you desire a they cause the idea that society is not controlled by any all-powerful groups, but instead relies on the good work of regular folks like all of us to maintain, that we're responsible for more than our families, is scary.

If no one minds me extending this metaphor... which comes to us from Rudyard Kipling, if memory serves:

  • Person A: 2+2=4
  • Person B: 2+2=5
  • Person C: 2+2=2.01^2
  • Person D: mean - two standard deviations

We can test these in reality. Some will be more accurate than others, and one will be most accurate, although limited by our numeric system and experience of reality.

We pick the most accurate and act on that.

it doesn't end the conversation. what you're talking about is getting everybody to consider someone a Nazi, that does effectively silence them cause then many will discount what they say or avoid or block them, without having considered their opinions. that's the tactic of the Israeli government when people speak up for the Palestinians too.
