ADHD medication experience Day 4. This morning's dose taken a little late for mundane reasons. While waiting for it to kick in, did a few tasks and found it difficult going. Continued those after brain switched on, and found though I was in a fine working state, I couldn't retrieve memories I should have had from this morning. Fleeting ones after dose were still immediately findable though.

@NanoRaptor one of the hardest parts for me is the Flowers for Algernon effect

Sometimes when I go back to my work and the meds haven't kicked in yet, and I am not able to comprehend what I did

Not that what I did was bad in some way. It' just that my bulb shines so much brighter under medication

My wife and I saw Dune Part 2 and it’s…complicated?

Broadly speaking, I really like the Dune remake and I think this is what previous attempts at making this franchise into film wanted to achieve in terms of scale, character development, etc.

That said, this story is DEEPLY FLAWED in terms of gender representation

I won't go into the many structural problems with gender roles and how women are represented; that would be an essay (or two or three) rather than a social media post… (1/3)

New SSD for my Time Machine server, after the old one died last week

Now we see if my Ansible config is as complete as I think it is

I love this case from 52Pi, but because the Pi 4 doesn't support SSDs, its way of connected is pretty cursed 😂

Several years ago I wrote a scraper to turn Wikipedia's article of planets into machine parsable JSON

Then I started work on a Twitter bot to ingest that JSON and tweet out details about newly added planets, or ones from the archive if there's nothing new

I got distracted and never finished the twitter bot, and then Twitter imploded

A few weeks ago I blew the dust off, updated it for Mastodon, and finished it up

It went live today as @sw_planets 😁
