I have the fp5 and flashed e/os myself. Im very happy with it. You need to flash it back when you want to sent it in (they have the instructions on there own page). Build Quality is nice. Repairs are simple. The price for spareparts is reasonable. And they really try to make a difference here and that is why i support them. Are they perfect? No? But who is? And you need to start from somewhere i think.

I didn’t use the stock android version fron google at all, so i can’t twlk about that in comparison.
I really like it. The amount of settings in generell and also the amount of privacy focused settings. You still can use microG if you want and need. So you still can have all the apps you want to use if you choose to. Im using only open source app. More privacy and using my device like i want it to use is why ditched apple and google.
It is also just fun. Kinda feels like the “the old days” when i used to root and olay around with different android devices and roms.
