AlbertScoot,

Found an interest in Sahara Rock from Tiny Desk. I've been listening to Tiny Desk videos for years.

AlbertScoot,

Bandcamp has been pretty good for me to find the stuff I like listening to.

AlbertScoot,

While I did like Quest 64 as a kid, it has massive issues, even compared to the unfinished and buggy state of modern gaming releases.

Here's an idea for a remake. Quest 64 2, 20% more finished than the original release.

"The Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie of 2023" article refers to Barbie as the second best science fiction movie of 2023 ... (www.ign.com)

I know The Creator wasn't perfect but it certainly deserved better than it got. Spider-Man: into the spider-verse was came the winner but I still am not convinced that that was the best science fiction movie of 2023

AlbertScoot,

Yeah, I see Barbie as a sort of Urban Glitz Fantasy.

AlbertScoot,

Don't worry, when it fails to live up to the expectations they'll spend the next decade slowly adding some features. People will love them for continuing to do their best.

AlbertScoot,

Imagine using an established IP and slapping it on a game but actually incorporating the IP into the media's content so it appeals to fans of said established IP.

AlbertScoot,

Early storefronts made it a pain in the ass to get legally purchased mp3s onto anything other than apple products. The easiest way to get legally purchased music on mp3 players was either to own an ipod and purchase on itunes or to rip your own cds.

AlbertScoot,

Yeah, it's financially devastating to cancel tours, especially to small or not-yet-made-it artists.

AlbertScoot,

Considering the mess they made of the recent release of Tales of Symphonia I'm not interested.

AlbertScoot,

I'm glad I was already planning to skip this cpu gen.

AlbertScoot,

I mean, this has always been the case. This is a practice going back decades for video card manufacturers.

HW News - Linus Tech Tips' Terrible Response (www.youtube.com)

From the video description: In HW News this week, we start with a discussion about Linus Sebastian's recent reply to our commentary about Linus Tech Tips' issues with accuracy, data, corrections, ethics, and conflicts. We are baffled and disappointed by the hastily, angrily-written, and at times inaccurate statement posted.

AlbertScoot,

Yeah, it's been apparent for years that they've been cutting corners on product testing to meet deadlines. Linus himself brought it up multiple times in video how they skipped testing this or that because they couldn't figure it out, when other people could. There were numerous examples of Linus's team not even doing basic research on the products they were reviewing.

AlbertScoot,

I wouldn't expect this to make gta better, just less competition for rockstar now.

AlbertScoot,

I was more angry that they changed the name at all, it's just an attempt to pretend they never did anything wrong.

I suddenly have the urge to bust out my PlayStation 2 and... a DualSense? - The Verge (www.theverge.com)

8BitDo continues to bridge the gap between wireless controllers and classic gaming consoles. It recently announced a new Retro Receiver for the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2, allowing you to play on Sony’s older consoles with a modern DualSense, DualShock 4, or other Bluetooth-compatible gamepads. The $24.99 adapter...

AlbertScoot,

Retroscaler's been selling these since last year, they're based on an open-source project. There's versions for NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, Dreamcast, etc.

Riesen, to piracy

I have downloaded every season of MAS*H in beautiful 1080p, there is a problem however, the only audio track includes a laugh track. Hard for me to watch and enjoy.
I downloaded another copy of the series, this time in only 480p, but there isn't a laugh track, hooray!
Is there a way to remove the audio stream from one and replace the other?
Is there such a program?

AlbertScoot,

ffmpeg should be able to strip and add the audio for whatever you're using.

Comcast, Centurylink Fail To Derail Community-Owned Gigabit Fiber Network In Bountiful, Utah (www.techdirt.com)

The city of Bountiful, Utah voted to build a $48 million fiber network to provide affordable gigabit broadband for its residents and businesses. Regional internet providers Comcast and CenturyLink opposed the plan and tried to force a public vote through a taxpayer group they fund. However, communities often build their own...

AlbertScoot,

Imagine this, community projects are pretty much always shitshows. How bad are all these telecoms that a bunch of city workers are able to get a better broadband service set up and running.

AlbertScoot,

Hard to take you seriously when you recommend playing the Switch All Stars versions, there's a noticeable slowdown from the emulation.

AlbertScoot,

Everything by Grant Kirkhope is great shout out to the Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie osts, also Skies of Arcadia
