Over the last few years my family and I have binged all of Star Trek, then moved on to Star Trek adjacent shows like The Orville and Stargate. At the moment we’re not really watching anything sci-fi. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for similar shows (or maybe some books) that fill the void left by Star Trek. In...
Ohio actually has a law that says if you legally change your name within the last 5 years, it has to be on the petition. In the article it mentions that there is no place for a previous name (dead name in this instance) on the petition, and the Secretary of State’s candidate guide doesn’t mention this requirement at all....
Psychologists are pretty united behind that idea. They say that making it national news inspires copycats. These are predominantly young frustrated men who feel unseen, that their ideas are unheard. Giving them a national platform to be heard and seen is literally their ideal.
The fucking Muppets aren’t entertaining. At all. Not even a tiny little bit. First of all, who is their intended audience, even? Not kids, really, because they contain a bunch of references to stuff that kids really won’t get. Kids don’t really know how a rock drummer is supposed to behave. They won’t find Kermit and...
I’m still trying to de-Google my life, little by little. I don’t trust Bing for similar reasons. DDG is feeling shady of late. What’s the search engine you all recommend that I can inject into my daily life? Is there perhaps a search engine that is focused on code, or have we just all moved on to AI for searching?...

Most corrupt, murderous police force in America, and that’s saying something.
The last guy who lead their compassionate cop outreach bullshit was the guy who was in charge of a special unit which was extorting civilians and the city, dealing drugs, violating civil rights, and was almost certainly involved in extralegal murders for profit.
I know this is a joke but I highly recommend the app Yuka. You use it to scan food and beauty products and it shows you if they’re toxic. You’ll be astonished at how much is.
Ooh neat. Idk much about it. I’m currently on an iPhone (regret). Yuka is pretty cool in that their pro plan is pay what you will, I will mention, though.
I remember my dad had a case where a carful of guys went to rob a convenience store. One went nuts and shot the guy for no reason. Everyone went to jail for life. (Shooter maybe was executed?)
Another one where a guy knowingly lent his car to a friend so the friend could go rob someone. Things went poorly, friend killed a guy. Dude who lent out his car is now somehow a murderer. Unreal. Law of transitive properties doesn’t apply here, dipshits!!!
