I’m, of course, pro-vaccination. But it’s not solely because doctors recommend it.
Nobody said that. This is a common red herring anti-vaxxers use to make their opinions more palatable. Just because you are not one of them doesn’t mean you aren’t using their (poor) argument.
There is no evidence that vaccines cause autism or other issues. We have literally decades of modern data and studies with billions of people vaccinated. In the absence of medical experts saying they do, you trust the ones that say they don’t. Because the evidence is overwhelming.
It also doesn’t help that the entire thing was started by the now-disgraced Dr. Wakefield and the now-retracted, horribly vetted Lancet study that they are still recovering from from a reputation standpoint. We literally know where this myth started and it has been disproven countless times.
There is no reason to refuse approved vaccines in 2023 absent of medical necessity - which a doctor will identify for you and is rare.
Proton’s services have been fully open source and regularly audited for years now. Until an audit reveals something or they start locking things down, they are a great option. You shouldn’t refuse to use a service because they might change their mind one day. Unless you expect everyone to roll their own everything.
Gmail was never open source. It was just very ahead of its time with its integrations/offerings.
