Gen1 has really grabbed me, and whilst I do enjoy the wobbly PS1 polygons, something about the enhanced visuals of the PS2 are that much nicer.
Have you played 4/5? From what I've seen they're wayyyyyy faster. Hoping to borrow a copy of For Answer at some point in the near future (hopefully before 6), and I'm slightly worried 6 may feel too fast in comparison to the early gens.
I could also just be playing Gen1 and 2 'wrong' and not flying around enough, ahaa. Seems like, AC battles in particular, you can just go for max turn speed and win everything.

Recently a friend pointed out that there is no , as in: one which wouldn't give you urban areas to rewild ( ) or a build from scratch, but an existing, flawed human city which would need to be redesigned and reorganized for and .

I understand how hard it would be to create such , but I think it would be very inspirational, especially with multiple realistic scenarios.

Or are we wrong, do they already exist?

@alxd Not quite what you're after, but check out Terra Nil.

Edit; Either the OP has been edited, or I'm a moron, because Terra Nil is explicitly mentioned...

If I had to guess it's down to the "subreddits" being called magazines. Different articles within a single magazine.

Hopefully we get something in the way of Game Pass for Steam, similar to how EA Play ditched being Origin (or whatever they call it these days) exclusive. I know multiple launchers are pretty much unavoidable these days, but I cant help but like having everything centralised...

Yeah, and the thing is, there technically is weapon repair; If you let a rock octorok (rocktorok?) suck up a weapon, they'll spit it out at full durability, but only once per octorok per respawn. But like you say, it's a complete chore if you want to repair a full set of weapons, much easier to just fuse something new. Even the high durability / decent base damage sticks are common as enemy drops, so there's no real reason not to just fuse up something fresh.

Is this a fine place to talk about table top RPGs?

Hello! I hope I am not off topic, this is literally my first day here (ok, maybe I should wait and know the community a bit better but I 'll try to be slightly bolder...if it's not ok just let me know). I understand that by choice there are no super focused communities to avoid an excessive fragmentation. So I wonder: is this...

On the flipside of this, and totally anecdotal, but I found that something like D&D5e ends up getting too 'bogged down in combat / rules', and makes new players think it's all about planning for and executing in, fights. Of course, it's very DM dependant, but something not too gamey like Cypher could also be a good jumping point; There's enough dice rolling to still have that gamey feeling, but it doesn't steal a lot of new players focus from the roleplaying itself.

Why I mentioned Cypher and not Ironsworn, I don't know; My little group are pretty much running that system as is right now, with a couple of minor homebrew changes to link back to our OG campaign. We're still early days (relatively speaking, 6 2-ish hour sessions in), but it runs great so far.
Cypher probably feels more memorable because that's what our DM ran our first campaign in, and that's what really got me into TTRPGing properly.

Honorable mentions to Monster of the Week also, quick to learn and very, very fun. The episodic nature of campaigns means if you want to try 1st person roleplaying, if you really want to mix things up with a new character, it can feel more natural for a character to leave because they died or otherwise.

The P5 soundtrack is fucking exquisite. I could stick Beneath The Mask on repeat all day and just zen out getting stuff done.
