What's everyone on /m/gaming playing lately?

I'm still making my way through the Diablo IV campaign, really enjoying that but looking forward to blasting and figuring out if I enjoy the endgame more than anything at this point. I'm a binge Path of Exile player but the past few leagues haven't really done it for me. It's been nice to play an ARPG again and I'm enjoying D4's slower pace. Zoom zoom is great in POE, but it's nice to get back to basics a little bit.

Went with Whirlwind Barbarian. Know it's meta, but Cyclone Slayer is my favorite POE build so I'm just trying to enjoy my time as the overpowered class rather than fighting it haha.

Played through the Lies of P demo as well and thought it was mostly great. Not the greatest example of gameplay for the genre IMO, but the production values and the vibe were stellar.

How about you guys?

Hunt Showdown. Diablo 4. Battlebit!!

It’s. Great time for me!!

sacredbirdman,

Got hooked on Elder Scrolls Online again. It's so well designed for my preferences. If I want to relax I can just wander around and gather stuff and hunt for treasure chests, do quests etc. If I want a bit more action I can help people with world bosses or hop in a dungeon or if I want a challenge I can try trials.. One thing that frustrates me though is inventory management.. I'm so bad at it in every game that requires it.

Inventory management is the bane of my existence! Then again, I tend to be a packrat in games... I feel like I need to keep every mat for possible crafting and far more gear than I should, "just in case". Especially in ESO, where I might roll a new character and want that old staff or bit of armor.

EnglishExile,

I'm enjoying the heck out of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom lately. Despite the same silly weapon system as BotW, it's still a great game. Highly recommend!

I’ve been playing a lot of Marvel Snap lately, they just added a Conquest Mode which effectively lets you test new decks (plus earning other prizes but waves hand) I’ve been having a lot of fun with my High Evo Toxic deck and also just made a High Evo Hulk deck.

I’m finishing up Shining Pearl, I basically put my game on hold right before the E4 so I could run around in the Underground for the blasted Spiritomb quest. I ended up getting burnt out and taking a hiatus so I think I’m just going to do the E4 and get Spiritomb later.

I also think I’m gonna pick up TOTK, I watched my partner play through it and I have a mighty need to make monster-killing Rube Goldberg contraptions.

Company of Heroes, it's a real time strategy video game series based around WW2, the Campaigns are great and I've absolutely loved it. It's a great RTS Classic I highly recommend it, it's even on Mobile

Going for my second ending of Nier Automata, great game

miraclechalk,

I’m addicted to Path of Exile. Doesn’t matter the league, I’m in. So much content to choose from.

Narrrz,

@miraclechalk

I've played in various leagues throughout the years, but honestly i find the sheer quantity of content has reached the point of being a drawback. There are so many different mechanics out there now that it's hard to keep track of it all, and remember what ties in to what, what's actually useful, etc.

The incredibly limited inventory space really doesn't help this either, since even with specialized stash tabs - how many different kinds do you need now? You'll often lose 1-2 columns of your inventory to the shards, or cards, or whatever else just between stash visits.

It's a shame, because i really love the gem/socket skill interaction & leveling systems, and the skill atlas is like pure dopamine. Although now with the second, maps skill atlas, even that has become a bit excessive.

I get that the game is aimed at a more Hardcore audience than me, but still, it's a shame.

MajaMystic256,

I returned to my Final Fantasy series playthrough after a few months break after finishing 3 and so am currently playing Final Fantasy 4
I've also been playing a little bit of Skyrim on the side as well as custom maps and mods for like Doom, Quake, and other retro fps games

Zelda.

So much Zelda.

Which honestly feels really good as I was in a gaming slump before Tears of the Kingdom came out.

I'm a simple man. Pinging back and forth between Street Fighter 6 and Diablo IV. Will probably stay that way for a while until the latter part of the year.

I just finished up Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom last night. Amazing game. Absolutely worth all the praise it has recieved. I am not sure exactly what to play next. I kind of want to check out Diablo IV. I tried it out in the betas, but I am not sure it's a game I would stick with. I might just dive into the backlog while waiting for Sea of Stars, Baldur's Gate 3, and Starfield.

quacker,

Slay the Spire

I've been grinding up to Ascension 20 with Ironclad (no heart). This weekend, I beat A17 with a Dead Branch + Corruption deck, and beat A18 with a Fiend Fire + Runic Pyramid deck. I tend to need sort of "game breaking" decks, because I'm kind of stupid, but I'm better at anticipating fights I'm not guaranteed to win with my current deck and preparing for them.

Tears of the Kingdom

I didn't play it, but I watched my wife play TOTK here and there. It was interesting to see how she both couldn't put it down and couldn't stop calling out its shortcomings. She liked the exploration, naming horses, getting a house, side quests, and such but she really wasn't into the "building vehicles" part of the game and found the ultrahand positioning and vehicle mechanics pretty clunky, I guess. But autobuild saved her when she finally got that ability. Overall, she liked this less than BotW.

Splinter Cell Blacklist, such a good game. It's updated for Xbox series X!

DuncanIdahoe,

I’ve been playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider since it was free. It’s scratched an itch for me. My brother has been trying to get me to play Elden Ring but I’m not sure I want to join that cult yet.
