I found out about it because of a hacker news comment discussing the Reddit drama. I'm pretty upset that I didn't discover it on Reddit. I assume any mention of Lemmy was marked as spam or was I just not browsing the right communities?
I have to admit I was surprised just how good it feels to fire Strun (Prime), dunno whether it's due to sound or just the ridiculous amount of pellets flying out but it really feels like a proper video game shotgun. I'd maybe even put it above corinth!...
Oh man the dual toxocyst is so damn fun now. I have a riven for it and it just sprays monstrous red crits everywhere. It is utter trash without the incarnon adapter though.
Point being, all of us that are here are the ones cool enough to come here. We are unified by the desire for a better social media that is not-for-profit and user driven. And that makes this community unique compared to the scabs advocating for Reddit. The people who will belong here will come here. :)
I posted a thread in the reddit alternatives sub so people can see it if they go looking for it but I'm not not trying anything in the large subs for that reason.
I try to be skeptical until the whole story comes out. Neither party is particularly trustworthy but I have zero confidence in anything that reddit corporate says these days.

Since when is more choice a bad thing?Especially now when we're at the beginning of everything blowing up in popularity. Im going to try all the apps and decide which UI I like using most, just like I did with RiF, relay, sync, etc. The more developers the fediverse attracts the better imo.
Collaboration is great but you wouldn't tell a solo musician to just join a band because they make similar music. I look forward to checking out everyone's take on their app ideas.
Bugs happen but kbin gets better every day. Ernest is working his ass off, I've only been here since the 11th and the difference in stability is already super noticeable.
My plan was to edit all my comments with a tagline like "this user has moved to kbin.social and will not respond to any DMs or replies as of 7/1/2023". I didn't post content at all but I have a lot of comments on discussions about some niche things and wanted to leave them there for future Google searchers.
