US Agency to Announce 'Surveillance Industry' Regulation (www.improvethenews.org)

Rohit Chopra, the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — a US government agency — will announce Tuesday a new rule to restrict the types of consumer data that can be sold by businesses. It will require data brokers, or any other company in the so-called surveillance industry, to be covered by the Fair Credit...

I see so much here suggesting not to vote for the democrat as they are not liberal enough and bidens to old and they should run someone else but for me he has done a good job and I would like to see 4 more. I honestly think he has done better than obama partially because he is not working under the delusion the republicans will work with him in good faith. He does not roll over for anything and fights for each thing. His campaign should use that chumba wumba song if they let him.

I definitely take the democratic narrative but that is no surprise. Could be my bias but I don't see how plea deals can function if there is a history of tossing them out and they are a very useful prosecutor tool.

Kansas Police Raid Newspaper Office, Reporter Injured (www.improvethenews.org)

Marion County, Kansas police Friday raided the office of the local newspaper — the Marion County Record — as well as the homes of its journalists and 98-year-old co-owner Joan Meyer. Meyer died at her home a day after, with the paper reporting the raid had left her "stressed beyond her limits." Guardian (LR: 2 CP: 5)...

Im narrative A but what makes it wierd is if the newspaper had basically just acted as a middleman and sent the information on to the police then the police are in the chain. Seems like they should have just talked to them after that. The raid itself makes no sense and is generally a bad precedent to let slide. Should it be impossible for a paper to be raided. No. After all a gang could throw up an independent newspaper as a shell for illegal activity. All the same it seems like this is a case where a local figure has shadow powers to tell the police to go do something and they do it. Honestly it seems like Newell and the judge that approved the search warrant should be investigated as that town seems to have corruption issues.

I just don't see how someone is not like. alright. im outa here. I mean if you stick around it likely appeals to you somehow.

My main reason for support of him is I like what he has done and what is currently in the works that I want completed. incumbency bias is not even part of it for me. Its more I would like to stick to a good thing at this point rather than take a chance that is more than likely to be much worse.

I don't know how anyone gets anything done. Last weekend I had a work emergency that tanked my friday and a bit of saturday and all I got done was going to the park with my dog and dishes and to me that is getting nothing done since that stuff has to be done every week. The real backlog is goofy paperwork and such.

I find on average food is twice as much in the us now as it was in 2020

If its taking all doctors and averaging there are three things. Most doctors live in cities so more expensive areas. Specialists make more than general practitioners. There are many doctors who put in tons of hours (for example surgeons usually have set days or times they do surgeries and set times and hours to do office visits and then need to check in on patients post surgery. Usually my surgeons have done rounds of patients at least once during the weekend and that is with a pretty full weekday schedule). I think this amount seems about right. Should a doctor with all that schooling and having the talent necessary to even get in make less? Im not worried about the literal best and brightest who have sacrificed a lot making 10x what poor folk make. Its the ceo's making well over 100x and that includes hospital administrators and insurance companies. The doctors actually do the things that help us.

I don't know why it avoided blockchain. sure bitcoin and other energy intensive ones are bad but gridcoin actually does work with the energy. If they could have used that and wrapped more security around it that would have been great.

I don't get the point given its a greenhouse. Where its located makes no difference if they control the internal environment.

npr did something similar a few years back. What it really comes down to, like a lot of things, is they are basically subsidized vs cars and if folks paid the real cost many would go to cars with folks who don't really need the big vehicles. Of course now they are so culturally engrained even if they reveresed course I bet it would take awhile.

thanks as I find it hard to believe they would be surprised to find plastic in people nowadays.

HubertManne,

yeah im just old enough to have been around when that was not the case and I never really noticed a difference. Its like one day I was alive and most things were natural and then one day everything is like an oil product of some kind.

For me its the ultimate act of atheism. To purge the mind of all the superstition by embracing and even understanding and glorifying the figure who represents freedom in so many ways. Its a fight against what we see in all religions of villianizing freedom and getting believers to accept the collar of servitude.
