For gaming, you should be using the most current version of nvidia’s proprietary drivers that supports your GPU, unless that GPU is really old. Have a look at this page: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/unix/legacy-gpu/

If your GPU isn’t listed there, use the most recent driver you can find.

If your GPU is on the 470.xx supported list, try 470.223.02, as that seems to be the last in the series.

If your GPU is on the 390.xx supported list, try 390.157.

If your GPU is on one of the other lists, it’s a really old chipset and you should be using the Nouveau driver that’s built into the kernel.

If you’re using the nvidia proprietary drivers on a system that also has Nouveau installed, make sure you’ve blacklisted Nouveau so that you’re loading the correct driver.

Dual-graphics laptops are a bit of a bear to work with under Linux generally. Good luck.

I also like NextDNS. You can try it without account as well, I think for 7 days, if you click “Try it now”. Of course, if you delete cookies you get 7 days again.

One of my favorite movies, it’s a trip. Anyone curious curious to watch it, don’t concern yourself with understanding every little thing. It’s a lot of implied ideas /throw away lines to give the scenes more natural qualities, allusions to stuff you’ll never hear about again that aren’t plot-relevant. Just soak it all in and then watch it again :)

The only sad thing in hindsight is it has a pretty unnecessary slur (f—) in one part but it’s quick and, again unfortunately, pretty typical for the time it came out. Also kind of a tasteless joke about making their kid “wind up in the closet.”

Still, well worth the watch. Short too! Like 80min.

I’ve used zoho before years ago, it’s pretty good. I currently do use proton personally as it has a good mix of stuff, including a VPN.

I prefer NextDNS for blocking ads and trackers, you get to choose your own blocklists and white/blacklist domains of your choosing if you run into some problems.

How easy is to get a prepaid SIM-card in the US for travel?

I’m visiting for two weeks and roaming prices are insane, I’m considering getting a prepaid SIM-card. Can I easily grab one in any shop, e.g. at the airport/Walmart? What are the prices? Unlimited data would be nice, but I can survive with a few GBs too, I’d probably need it mainly for navigation.

About $35-50 at Wal Mart, prepaid, refill when needed. Very easy to get.

Proton. It replaced PIA for me when it was introduced. Since I was already paying for Proton mail, there was no reason to keep paying for a separate VPN as well.

I use a Roku and the webcaster app to stream media from fmovies on my phone. Super easy to use, and tends to have everything.

I had the same problem, I have switched over to ProtonDrive and Iike it so much. If you want give ProtonDrive a try.
