Not very many people want dumb phones, actually. Certainly not enough for anyone to mass produce the things.

Haiti would be right up your alley this time of year then.

Power abhors a vacuum. History tells us that.

Here's hoping you're not, and never will be, anyone's boss.

Can KBin not like, freak out at any turn when surfing on it?

I forced myself to go back a little to Reddit recently. Because while I endorse and love the existence of the Fediverse, I can't in good conscience, tolerate the instability of it. Any other time I go somewhere, I'm met with a page that says KBin is working on resolving issues, then I go somewhere else and it's fine....

Russia can’t even conquer a quarter of Ukraine

Without NATO, all of Ukraine would have fallen a year ago.

So, I'm confused. Are we for or against censorship?

Complaining about the right banning books out of one side of your face and complaining about the left not banning books out the other side is a truly fucking psychotic state of affairs.

Even ".NET" is a dumb name.

The whole skipping 9 was so older programs wouldn't misidentify Windows 9 as 95 or 98. They might have put other spin on it in marketing materials, but that was the actual technical reason for skipping 9.

ME was an afterthought for Microsoft. Kind of an "oh shit" moment. Windows 2000 was meant to be the only OS in that release cycle, with a Home version for normies and the Professional version for the enterprise. They chickened out on moving normies to the NT kernel so soon, so ME was born.

Roku TV bricked until agreeing to new terms of service

See title - very frustrating. There is no way to continue to use the TV without agreeing to the terms. I couldn’t use different inputs, or even go to settings from the home screen and disconnect from the internet to disable their services. If I don’t agree to their terms, then I don’t get access to their new products. That...

I've yet to run across a smart TV that I couldn't just use as a dumb TV by NEVER CONNECTING IT TO WIFI. Literally NEVER connect it to WiFi. You will never have this issue. You don't need a list of models, because there isn't a TV that won't function as a TV if it's never connected to WiFi.

Do you understand now?

Now that's a classic.

You really, really should inform yourself before you make statements about things you know jack shit about.
