They just don't want people to look at their bills and see:

C-Suite 3rd Yacht Fund: $2.39
Monopoly Maintenence Fee: $5.25

I would love to use public transit, or even bike to where I need to go, but I live in a more rural area. The nearest, decent hospital is a 30 minute drive. A better hospital? Nearly an hour. Work is a 30 minute drive past farmland and lightly forested areas. No buses run between towns, since they're so far apart, and the train only comes around 1-2 times per day.

Basically, where I live we have no choice. Even the buses that run in town have rather inconvenient schedules, making it hard to get to where you need to go (in a timely manner, anyway). Lots of places are like this in the US, unfortunately.

I prefer Mint just for ease-of-use, really. I'm not a new user, by any means, and over the years I've bounced between Red Hat, openSUSE, Ubuntu, and a small handful of others that escape me at the moment. But I'm also not a power user.

With Mint, I don't have to tweak things, really. I can install and just go about doing what I want to do. As a bonus, guests aren't left scratching their heads as much if they sit down at my computer to browse the web or pull up a video. It's Windows-ish enough where they can muddle their way through with minimal issue.

I'm not sure if it's fun in the traditional sense, but I'm going to learn Python! I've been really unhappy in a dead-end (non retail) job and I'm hoping to branch out into tech for better opportunities (and perhaps benefits that don't require me to use my PTO to cover mandatory holidays...) It will be a lot of work, but so far the tiny bit I have done has been really fun!

I've been getting back into FFXIV, myself. Life got crazy for far too long, so I had to leave games on the back burner for some time, but I've been trying to get back into the swing of things. That first login felt fantastic and I've been trying to pop in at least a few times each week. I finially finished capping my healers, so now I'm working my way through my nemises: DPS classes!

Inventory management is the bane of my existence! Then again, I tend to be a packrat in games... I feel like I need to keep every mat for possible crafting and far more gear than I should, "just in case". Especially in ESO, where I might roll a new character and want that old staff or bit of armor.
