But much like Texas railroads currently, it’ll get bogged down in lawsuits and never happen.

I just wanna be able to ride a train around the state. Is that so hard to ask?

There are… but there are loopholes. Which is why the vehicles get bigger every year. They’re all using loopholes to continue not bothering to meet the standards the regulations set forth.

All. The. Time.

I think I was a squirrel in a past life. Only instead of acorns it’s my keys and wallet.

Literally nothing is stopping any of them from cutting a massive check to the government. This is lip service to stop people from hating on the billionaire class.

SuiXi3D,

Except I wholeheartedly agree with you. There is a huge issue here, but at the same time if these billionaires truly believe that they should be paying more, they should just… do it. There is literally nothing stopping them. They should be forced to, yes, and that’s what they’re saying. But they should be putting their money where their mouths are in the meantime.

No, obviously it takes those in government to have good intentions as well.

Because they literally aren’t thinking about it the same.

Assuming this is a tablet, I chop it in half and my wife and I both enjoy being in our twenties again.

I used to work for a laptop repair company. Nothing made me hate HP than having to work on their machines. Dell? Lenovo? Hell, Asus? I’d take ‘em all over an HP any day.

All the time. Good Lord I got so sick of that.

I had to tell my wife to stop giving the cat a treat after we wake up because it led to the cat meowing incessantly around 5am every morning.

You did a thing, didn’t consider all of the consequences, and are now worried about saving face? You said yourself $200 isn’t a big deal for you. Just give her the money, Christ.

Or just shoot Paxton, Cruz, and Abbott and be done with it. This state has gone down the shitter for the last 30 years, and it’s all because of Repugicunt leadership.

Right, we just wait until they invite a civil war, lose, and kill themselves when they realize they can’t win, meanwhile countless others suffer during the whole thing. Sounds great.

Boomers won’t part with their homes, and that’s a problem for young families (www.cnn.com)

Buying a family-sized home with three or more bedrooms used to be manageable for young people with children. But with home prices climbing faster than wages, mortgage rates still close to 23-year highs and a shortage of homes nationwide, many Millennials with kids can’t afford it. And Gen Z adults with kids? Even harder....

My 90 year old grandmother refuses to go to a nursing home (and honestly I can’t blame her) and actually just blew a ton of money getting her home remodeled. She has no plans to leave until she passes away, at which point the house will go to my father who has plans to sell it.

Meanwhile, my wife and I barely make the median income amount and, at 36, we’re never going to be able to afford a home.

Mhm. He and my mother plan on moving to Alaska with my uncle.

I spent $10k on food last year. What’s good way to track grocery spending?

So I’m just one dude and 10k a year just on food seems incredibly high. I don’t go out that often, ~$1600 was at restaurants. I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong while shopping at grocery stores and want to track grocery purchases better. The store I typically go to doesn’t have online receipts to use....

I recently tried to find the same thing and came up empty. What worked best (though with noticeable shortcomings) was simply making a spreadsheet and comparing prices I found online for the stores I could think of. What I found is that it takes a lot of time, some places don’t have their prices or even all their items on their websites, and that sometimes you end up spending a little (or a lot) more now in order to save money in the long run.

BUT. I also found that some things are consistently cheaper at certain places, and that if you bother to track individual items over time you can start to paint a pretty clear picture of what stores will have the cheapest items. Like, when it comes to chicken breasts and ground turkey, I’m going to Aldi almost every time. But for canned goods, my local H‑E‑B tends to fare a bit better, and is a good second choice for ground turkey.

1 in 10 restaurants in the US serve Mexican cuisine, reflecting expanding population, study shows (www.usatoday.com)

Food is deeply ingrained in cultural identity, and is one way to learn about a community’s heritage, familial customs and values. In the U.S., Mexican food is one of the most popular cuisines, with 1 in 10 restaurants serving Mexican, according to recent findings from the Pew Research Center.
