The steam launcher is a mess, and Valve refuse to fix it. Seems like they don’t want my money then. I have no trouble with running pirated singleplayer games through Lutris, so I’ll just do that instead.
Why YSK: Because fandom's website is complete garbage, it's filled with ads, has a horrible UI and has auto playing videos for no reason. For some reason a lot of game wikis still use that website.
Over reliance on algorithms has degraded the user experience to the point that the average user is drowning in ragebait and extremist politics, because they drive up engagement. Just like a toddler, algorithms don’t discriminate between good and bad attention, so everything that gets clicks is thrust forward. Now, you could...
TLDR: While Fediverse won’t directly serve you ads, anonymous bad actors other than Meta can save, redistribute, and even dox you for any information you post here. Anything you post here can/will remain forever on some malicious instance that doesn’t honor deletion requests. So be careful!
I see so many people talking about using their deck to play games while others are watching TV with their partners or whatever. But I just can’t do it. I hate not hearing the sound effects, music, voice acting when playing a game, and I tend to find myself not using the deck as often as I would like as a result....
For me it depends. If I'm playing a game for the first time, I have to have sound on, but if I'm not playing for the first time then I'm okay without sound. Also some games like factorio, cities:skylines, minecraft, etc I like to play with my own music or a podcast.
I see no use for the numlock key, I'd rather just have the numpad on the whole time. Are there actually cases where it is useful or people who for some reason prefer their numpad turned off?
Yes. On my keyboard there's no separate "end" key, it's part of 3 on the numpad, that key is very useful when using the terminal, because you don't need to wait for 5 years for the cursor to make it to the end of your command.
...but reading this thread I wonder if that needs a rethink - people seem to boost rather more liberally than expected/intend in order to game this algorithm.
I think it's because of all of the posts that say "boosts are upvotes", and people are just confused, so they use the boost button alongside the upvote button. Once this gets fixed, the amount of boosts will probably go down
The api is still open, but you can't exceed 100 per minute per "Reddit app" unless you pay. So if you want to delete your entire post/comment history, you'll need to Register a new app and it will take some time to delete everything. At least that's how I understand it.
I'm looking for a gaming handheld, and I've got roughly 300 euros saved up. This would be enough to get a switch lite and a couple of games for it. But, for 119 euros more I could buy a steamdeck, which I already have a good amount of games for. The steamdeck also doubles as a laptop, which would be pretty great since I really...
Definitely save up for a steam deck, games on steam are cheaper than on switch, also you can do a lot more with a steam deck and you can customize it. Decky loader is amazing and you should install it if you get the steam deck
Because currently, it seems like the only thing it's recording are downvotes. Meanwhile upvotes are completely ignored, leading to pretty much every profile I see having a negative reputation....
Steam crashes my entire Linux system, so I'll go 100% piracy
