France resolves to support Ukrainian membership of NATO (www.lemonde.fr) French

A defense council meeting held at the Elysée Palace examined the possibility of Kiev joining the Atlantic Alliance, which had so far been ruled out by Paris, Berlin and Washington, but was supported by Central European countries such as Poland and the Baltic states. This French overture would be designed to increase pressure on...

Finland may cut aid to African countries supporting Russian war in Ukraine (www.euractiv.com)

Li told journalists China wants closer economic cooperation with Germany but avoided any mention of Russia or Ukraine.

Europe must start to ween itself off from China, now its the time. We shouldn't repeat the same bs we did with Russia.
There are other better trade partners out there.

In an apparent reaction to those plans, Li warned that "deglobalization flares up again."
He said, "We should maintain the tradition of mutually beneficial cooperation and uphold the multilateral trading system and industry and supply chain stability."

No, we shouldn't Mr. Li.

I want to apologize again for the sudden block from mstdn to .art💔

Some say it's because they where bashing on meta but that's untrue.

The admin was spreading mis information about the discussion that only fueled the fire and not the discussion with knowing any of the facts

If a "user" does this we can handle accordingly but when an admin does this it's getting worrisome

We should not figh each other but rather talk about it like adults, and also I am to blame in this

It won't happen again

@stux Jeez, I decide to check on what's going on in the fediverse/microblogging thing for the first time and people are having death-threats drama? Holy hell. Can someone of you kind folks fill me in? What was all of this about?

Ahhh, on the topic of Roscosmos.

Dmitry Rogozin - Director General of Roscosmos from 2018 to 2022, deputy prime minister in charge of the defense industry from 2011 to 2018, and Russia's ambassador to NATO from 2008 to 2011, was (and is) a nazi.
The party he formed, Rodina, was campaigning to ban jewish minorities and jewish organizations.

Here's Rogozin with a banner behind him that reads "Jewish fascism - there's nothing scarier today"
Also here was one of his party's ads Let's clean Moscow of "garbage"
Rogozin also participated at a myriad of neo-nazi meetings and protests(money shot in the last few seconds of the video, translation not necessary)

These are the kind of people that are appointed in positions of power. Can we imagine even for a split second the sheer scandal that would ensue if NASA's director had that kind of history?

Interviewing Ukraine's Far-Right Soldiers (EDIT: by a left-wing youtuber and no the interviewed is not a Nazi, by a long shot) (www.youtube.com)

In order to get a better grasp of Right Sector and Ukrainian Ultra Nationalism, [DylanBurnsTV] went to a Right Sector base to interview a fighter who has been fighting with their paramilitary group since 2014, when Russia invades Ukraine and sponsored separatists in eastern Ukraine....

I don't blame them that much for the downvotes, a lot of people are weary or suspicious when Ukraine's far right topic is addressed.
But not because they want to deny its existence, but because that its existence has been weaponized by Russians as a justification for their invasion, genocide, tortures, rapes and overall warcrimes.
And especially with how some western leftists (Hello Hasan) have treated the issue, or how it was used by tankies, fascists, vatniks and all sorts of such people to attack and diminish Russia's action, it is pretty understandable their reaction.

That being said, Dylan has been on the side of Ukraine since the very beginning, one of the few genuine left-leaning western folks, and this interview is very informative. Looking forward tot he second part.

Says Barring Access to Returned POWs

    Extracts
The russian Orthodox Church said earlier this month a group of Ukrainian prisoners of war of Hungarian origin had been transferred to Budapest.

“All attempts by Ukrainian diplomats over the past few days to establish direct contact with Ukrainian citizens have not been successful,” foreign ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said in a statement on Facebook.

@EugeneMcParland If the rumors about Hungary using these people for a media stunt to hit at Ukraine and praise Russia/Russian Orthodox Church at true, I expect a strong and violent response from all EU member states as well as the EU itself.

International railway is not the future, international railway will be a lluxury, the future is local railway

    and

Everywhere you need to transport goods, then you need to transfor it with railway instead, because otherwise you will have trucks and pollution

Hold on. Are you an isolationist? Do you want member states in the EU to do less trade with each other and people to travel less inbetween member states?

    grus,
    grus avatar

Yeah, that has zero chance of ever working. Its completely unrealistic, furthermore I'd argue that its a pro-fascist stance simply because by virtue of imposing those kind of restrictions on people and commerce will very likely lead to fascists taking power. I can easily see that happening.

I already said this in another post, but international trade of goods is perfectly fine. in this case there is already a line which is underused, at 20% usage.

For example in this case, the only way to achieve this is either 1) faster rail alternative that's better than transporting via trucks (which you very explicitly do not want) or 2) state force via taxes on trucks/roads/fuel.
The moment you do the second options fascists, nazis, white supremacists and the rest of the filth will undoubtedly surge in the polls.
We've seen what happened with just a immigrant crisis.
This kind of move will not only cartoonishly fail to achieve any of its goals but it'll put fascists in power.

This is a huge luxury and people need to get rid of the idea that traveling far is a given. No, it's not. Not any more. It was, with the profusion of energy, but now it's not any more.

This won't happen, climate change is not the type of thing where people notice its effects relatively immediately. And for that reason they're not going to vote for the ones who wish to install draconian measures and greatly hamper the economy and all that suffering that comes with that.

"Fascist, nazi, white supremacists".... I'm not sure that you are debating seriously, /u/grus.

What are you talking about, of course I'm very serious. Have you not seen the rise of the far right in Europe?

On top of that I see that you are subscribed to /m/shitposting, /m/unpopularopinion and /m/noncredibledefense.

Well, this has to be the silliest thing you've said so far. Disregarding my argument simply because I'm into jokes?

I'm not interested anymore, I posted some source, read it or not, I'm out.

Translation: I have no counter-arguments so I choose to run.

You would've looked better if you didn't say anything at all and just stopped replying.
