Would it even be America without a non-citizen underclass to do all the hard work while their free existence in society is made illegal, justifying oppressive police forces to "deal with the problem"
This one is something that were brought up a lot by developers including me who are very weary about corporations profiting off of our work for free and this basically put us off from contributing to open source in general....
Also interesting, Apple implemented XMPP in its messaging app way long ago and pulled support a few years back.
When people insist that Apple needs to implement Google's new secure messaging stack for better interoperability with Android, I wonder if they are thinking back to XMPP and saying "Yeah, fooled us once…"
Seems like it would work particularly well with a sweet pickle, concentrating the vinegar and salt flavors is going to make them really strong, sweetness would help balance it out a bit.
I'd even consider making a custom batch with a lighter seasoning (like summer style fridge cucumbers), so it's more like cucumber chips with vinegar and salt.
So, one of the cool things about the fediverse is that you can follow mastodon accounts from Lemmy or kbin or any other federated site and vice versa. Pick the service that has the UI you want (Mastadon is Twitter like, kbin and Lemmy are Reddit like) and keep an eye on everything!
Apple may regret picking the Vision Pro name for its new headset, as a rival firm has already trademarked it. And it’s not the only headache Apple is facing.
In Japan, Apple could not get the trademark for 'AirPort' which was their brand name for 802.11 wireless networking before the Wi-Fi Alliance and Wi-Fi Trademark existed. So they rebranded all the Access Point and Radio Cards as 'AirMac'
This case really feels like a parallel construction case; as in someone got picked up with one or more of these secret documents or copies by a TLA who can't prosecute (CIA or NSA) and they tipped off the FBI.
@lemmy Hi I am planning on joining Lemmy however I was reading about some privacy issues with the platform. I am going to share some of them and what do you think about it?
--Deleted comments remain on the server but hidden to non-admins, the username remains visible
-Deleted account usernames remain visible too
-Anything remains visible on federated servers!
-When you delete your account, media does not get deleted on any server
@KelsonV well, Lemmy is open source so you are free to run your own instance that deletes whatever you want from your own DB. But once it's out there, you can't necessarily un-publish information on the internet…

I am new to the Fediverse. I vaguely understand how Lemmy instances broadcast content to each other, but I was surprised to find Lemmy communities on kbin. How does that work?
And it also seems that mastodon can also be "syndicated" to these other communities, and vice versa? Is that true?...
