Rebel Galaxy is an exploration/open world-ish space game with weird controllers but a pretty fun gameplay. You get to fine-tune different classes of ships with a variety of weapons, shields, engines, etc. while completing missions to earn money and earn reputation with different factions.

It's basically Sid Meier's Pirates, but in space and with a modern look. I found it highly entertaining.

"Antiwoke" magazin on kbin.social posting bullshit like "how to end Wokeness" and "Time to reject the extrem trans lobby harming our society" How to report ? he is the moderator of that magazin. (calckey.social)

@ernest how do I report a Magazin on kbin.social ? There is a usere called "ps" who is posting to his own "antiwoke" Magazin on kbin.social. Please remove this and dont give them a chance to etablish them self on kbin.social. When I report his stuff it will go to him because he is the moderator of the magazin? Seems like a...

If you answer "yes", you just might be repeating the whisper of a demon."

So, wait... people who have a competing world view from yours are listening to demons? Now who's naive? xD

the articles from The Verge seem to be very favorable towards the protestors

Because that's what's driving traffic for them right now. Let's not forget that The Verge is also a soulless corporate entity. Peters has been doing a good job at covering the issues, but he wouldn't be allowed to be as thorough if the topic and angle wasn't a good driver of traffic.

OC Thoughts on Clew bindings?

Hopefully this won't get too much hate -- for those who have ridden them, what are people's take on Clew bindings? I got a cracking deal on them (~USD$200) so ordered a set. Been doing a lot of indoor snowboarding of late, so thought they'd be handy for the short length of the indoor runs, but keen to hear from anyone who's used...

I've only held them, but not ridden in them; but talking to other people, and looking at them and how they're supposed to work, I think they're overengineered and clunky. Step in bindings are a good idea for short slopes, and well, can't fault you for wanting to save money. Hell, you might even like them.

Personally, I'd rather stick to regular bindings, or if I'm going step in, I'd go with Burton or Nidecker. Flow, too, if you like the feel of those. I just think the Clews are an unnecessary implementation of the concept.

Edit: Also, they're doing the Dope approach of getting Instagram "influencers" to use them, and I just dislike that for snowboarding gear. I was talking to Malcolm Moore a couple of months ago, and he said they approached him to partner with him, but it was kinda all about the branding, and not about the riding.

General Discussion: m/snowboarding general chat, Q&A, advice, etc.

Want to discuss current trends? Board shapes, technology? Advice picking outerwear? Need info on traveling to Revelstoke for the first time? Or question about what board you should buy? For new and experienced snowboarders with any questions at all about snowboarding including gear, learning, what to wear, where to go, what...

OC A snowboarder's guide for your first time riding in Chile

I'm going back to Chile to ride in a couple of months, after going for the first time last year. Based on the comments from my posts back then, and my own experience planning this trip, I figured it'd be useful to put together a guide with some of my key takeaways and tips, if you're planning to make the trip down South because...

Yeah, Qatar and Emirates are, of course, subsidized by their governments' oil money. I didn't know Singapore Airlines was also a state-owned airline, but if it is, it makes sense in that way, too.

What are 2000 employees doing at Reddit?

When they said Reddit has 2000 employees I was shocked. what could they possibly do onto a website that is basically run by users (and sysadmins) and that is basically feature-wise mature? I really can’t figure out 2000 people working every day on Reddit… on what? just for a quick comparison, the whole IAmA was run by a...

That argument doesn't hold under scrutiny. Reddit employs about 80 people on their iOS development team. And the app blows fucking chunks, compared to Apollo, which was made by one guy.

I assume that's how OP's debate of how many holes a human had ended up being about straws: someone argued that the mouth and the anus are just one hole

Fantastic game. I got 2/3s into my first campaign and then my laptop got fried, along with my save. It's such a cool game, and I love the fact that you can try the most absurd shit to complete tasks on it, and it will either succeed or fail spectacularly xD

The Steam version does say it has local co-op, although I've never tried it.
