Man, what am I, Redd Foxx?

(never saw Metro, just remember the line from the trailer)

Is that Adam Scott in the background of Boimlers movie? (imgur.com)

Screenshot from Crisis Point 2. Am I just being obtuse or is the joke that because it’s a movie they’re gonna give Adam Scott a super minor cameo like he had in First Contact? If so, that’s an impressive detail thst took me a dozen watch throughs to notice.

I'm not sure I knew dude was in First Contact. Holy shit? I feel like Parks & Rec missed an opportunity with some kind of meta joke with Adam Scott's Ben Wyatt, especially since the character is a super nerd who probably sleeps on TNG bedsheets anyway.

Anyway, nice catch there with Crisis Point 2!

Holy shit

oh well, guess I have to watch it again

OMG, I remember this one, it's one of my favorite episodes evar. It's the one where Charlie gets a job in the mailroom and can't deliver mail to some dude named Pepe Silvia and he loses his mind and draws all that wacko shit on the board lol. Hahaha he so stupid

44% of Americans can't pay an unexpected $1,000 expense from savings. ‘We're just not wired to save,’ expert says (www.cnbc.com)

When faced with an unexpected $1,000 expense, more than one-third of Americans would borrow the money, according to a new Bankrate survey. That may include tapping their credit cards, seeking money from friends or family or taking out a personal loan....

According to his job description, the dude is a "Mental Wealth Advisor" 🙄

Whoa, wait, Dr Kovich is played by David Cronenberg?

Mind = blown

Is this before or after the ship makes out with Tuvok

While technically true, one of the two Ten Forwards you're referring to is a Mastodon instance and is nothing like Lemmy.

kellyaster,

The 10F Mastodon instance? Not for Lemmy users, as far as I know. Kbin users do have access to Mastodon content (it's in the "microblog" section over here), but I'm not sure how to get to the Mastodon instance of Ten Forward specifically. Looks like that instance is private, that's probably why.

Mod was enforcing unwritten rules and deleting posts mentioning it, so the regulars moved to Ten Forward: https://lemmy.world/c/tenforward. Pardon the mess, we're at the tail end (I think) of a 24-hour spree on name puns. It's not usually like this.

Okay, I lied, it's always this weird.

kellyaster,

Huh, that's odd. Ok, this one is the one that spun off of Risa: https://lemmy.world/c/tenforward. I'm not sure I have seen the other one, can you link here?

Cancer vaccine with minimal side effects nearing Phase 3 clinical trials (abcnews.go.com)

Typically, cancer cells evade a person's immune system because it is recognized as that person's cells. Wagner developed a tumor lysate particle only (TLPO) vaccine that uses a person's tumor cells to identify particular parts that are then presented back in the body using the vaccine in a way that can stimulate their immune...

Something to put this brutal-looking number in perspective: those stats are for people who survive and are disease-free. The writer didn't mention the survival rate for people who survive stage 4 and still have it.

It's totally possible to survive stage 4 melanoma, the 5 year survival rate is like 15-20%. Not super high, but not zero either.

There's a mysterious new respiratory illness infecting dogs in the U.S. It's contagious and is killing some of the infected dogs. I can't find any updates, dunno if it's still a thing or if it died out since November.
