or maybe we acknowledge these issues and browse lemmy for entertainment and getting away from the stresses of daily life rather than be constantly reminded of it and roped into repetitive discussions that are preaching to the choir

err, what I meant was we need to burn down the system

You really don't need to care about whatever's happening with Threads as a casual user

I honestly dipped halfway through season 4 and don't see myself going back. This might be a hot take but the dragon prince is pretty mediocre, the only selling point was that it's by the same creators of Avatar but it's nowhere near as good.

I've been playing a lot of Engineer lately. Aside from the fact that I have to be the one to blow up vehicles, the RPG is actually an insanely powerful weapon against normal people. It's an instakill with a big radius and a potentially very long range, I've sniped snipers with the RPG and got some hate lol.

Also the engineer can use semi-automatics which are great. The M110 is my favorite weapon in the game so far.

Great stuff. I hope Fandom kicks the bucket, it's nigh unusable lately.

Holds up pretty well graphically too. I remember this game destroying my FPS back in the day. Sure, it doesn't look amazing by today's standards but for a PS3/Xbox One game, it's pretty darn good.

Is gunplay in this game hitscan?

Probably a stupid question, but I had one play session last week and admittedly my buddies and I were drunk, but I recall not being able to hit a damn thing when sniping because I was trying to compensate for bullet drop. Looking at same gameplay videos I assume it's hitscan gunplay (no bullet drop) but I wanted to confirm.

Nope, it's projectile-based. You can see your bullet travel as you snipe and there's quite a bit of drop-off (at least with starting snipers)

I sometimes write things in my notebook but I feel my WPM typing speed on computers has gotten so fast that writing with a pen and paper is just holding me back.

What the hell, this still happens? This was a bug I had like 6-7 years ago. Same problem, KDEWallet popping up asking me for verification even though I never used it.

Is the out-of-the-box quality of desktop-focused Linux distros declining recently?

I seem to be noticing a little bit of a trend lately that the out-of-box experience and overall quality of "mostly should just work" desktop-focused Linux distributions has declined. Usually, you could grab an .iso of distros like Ubuntu, Fedora, Manjaro etc, install it and have a decent enough platform out of the box to tweak...

simple,
simple avatar

Mostly aesthetically, but also since Linux Mint is a very stable distro updates are usually slow and the packages it uses are often a little outdated. If you're the type of person to want to update to the newest thing as soon as it's out, then it's probably not for you.

It's browser based which means there's no bare metal CPU or GPU calls in can make.

Here's hoping WebGPU can fix that in the future.

Ehhh I don't know, people said the same thing when Cowboy Bebop was teased. It all looked good enough until the show actually dropped.

The PS4 controller just feels great to use. I'm also a fan of the touchpad, it's a shame there are barely any games that used it.

But does he have the 5 certificates required to qualify him going to the interview?

They'd probably be way more expensive if they were pre-painted though.

It's a known issue with Lemmy, it should be fixed by next release.

Beehaw disabled federation with https://lemmy.world/ and https://sh.itjust.works/ , two of the biggest instances just a few hours ago. Beehaw claims there were a lot of trolls coming from those communities and there is a lack of moderation tools on Lemmy to deal with them. While most of Beehaw's community is okay with this, a lot of people on both sides are upset because it means splitting the community further.

Now Beehaw can't access popular communities and other instances can't access Beehaw communities. You can read the official post about it here: https://beehaw.org/post/567170
