The person running the Lemmy doesn't have the greatest trick record. While Kbin is missing some of those basics features, it is newer. There is a lot already on the works and if you go look at the road map a lot of these features are already ear marked to come.
I was initially introduced to Mastodon a few years ago by a close friend and picked up on it quickly given the benefits of not having to deal with advertising, or being shown what a mega-corporation thought I should have to see through algorithms. I have since found a great instance over on cupoftea.social that promotes quality...
From Reddit, I don't remember which post lead me to finally click over and join. I just kept seeing Kbin listed as a good place to migrate over too. So far I like it, I am struggling with figuring out how to subscribe to magazine outside of Kbin.
A lot of questions on here are aimed at the reddit users experiences, but I've been wondering what the older users thought of his move. Are there any reddit cultures you are hoping do not come with the users? Are you confident or fearful of the growth coming from the reddit community? I'm curious how the reddit influx is...
I sadly have not played 4 or 5. I don't know why. I think I read something about 4 when it first came out and it turned me off of it. But for the life of me I have no idea what that was.
I actually like the slow movement of the mechs. Something about them felt so much more real unlike something like Gundam. I'm very excited for 6 but yes I fear it will be to quick.
I though about this as well and you are right it is about confidence that reddit will just continue to get worse. Whole Kbin doesn't have a app yet I'm sure we will start getting some soon when the API is opened. Also Kbin is so much more light weight in user experience that it doesn't feel as bad to use compared to Reddit official app.
I would rather have well though out individual weapons with there own states or combat styles and then build combat around them, instead of just having weapons becoming throw away resources.
Stars are my destination is my go to when asked what my favorite sci-fi book is. But I haven't read it since highschool so it feels a little disingenuous so I would have to the Expanse is probably my favorite series.
Lets see how the number s are after all these people free trials end. So in a half a year let's see if the numbers fall, stays or climbs then we will know. Sadly other streaming sites will see this and start implementing a crack down too.
I wanted to get a pulse check on how new members are finding the general experience/website. Is it more confusing than Reddit or are you finding the instance system a better way of doing things as it can give you more freedom of where you choose to create an account?...
Honestly I do not understand the communities situation. I've read a bunch of post about tips for new users and I still don't understand how to find or interact with them.
Hands down And or is my favorite show. Empire will always have a spot in my heart but honestly Rogue One is my favorite movie. I know it has its flaws and suffers a bit from story editing but it's just beautiful movie.
The first Guardian's really changed my out look on the marvel cinematic universe. I was worried they wouldn't be able to make movies based off more obscure characters.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a single player, narrative driven action-RPG that challenges the players to choose their own experience – from the appearance of their Arisen, their vocation, their party, how to approach different situations and more - in a truly immersive fantasy world.
If you love Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, that may sound like great news. But, even as a big fan of those games, I can’t help feeling like there’s a bit of a void in gaming created by the more traditional Zelda’s absence. Tears of the Kingdom makes some changes to address that, like incorporating dungeons...

Two missing features in kbin: Collapse comments and quick preview of images/videos
While using kbin, I realized that I keep going back to a Lemmy instance because it lacks two important features Lemmy (and Reddit) have:...

for the Reddit refugees, do you also feel a bit heartbroken?
For me it feels like breaking up with someone after many years. At the same time, I feel a bit dirty mentioning the name in the post title.
