Hot take: We are hearing so much discussion about #foss, #opensource, and #governance lately because the old models of governance are no longer serving the current state of open technology.

This introspection and analysis is not purely an attempt to catalogue, but to bring to light hidden and inferred structures to determine what changes are needed now and next.

It's a sign of current and imminent change in a legacy system, not a merely a sign of changing of the proverbial guard(ian's).
