@dansup not sure if it’s me or something else, but my new account on my new Pixelfed instance (@fabio) keeps showing 0 both on the number of followers and followed accounts and can’t be followed by either Mastodon and Pleroma accounts (all requests are stuck in Awaiting confirmation, but no follow notification is received on the Pixelfed side): https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/issues/5081.

The profile is public and indexed, all show_profile_follow* settings are enabled, and federation is enabled too.

Any clue on what’s going on here?

1/ So far, in the last 5 hours I've had a tornado a quarter mile south of my house &just now one a quarter mile north of us

Looking out the windows, it looks like nothing is wrong from the winds, etc, except my 3-year-old blackberry bushes have been yanked up by the roots & are in the middle of our driveway

I there has to be one I hope, just for spite, a tornado or storm, sucks up my old broken-down garbage can that got stolen last week and drops it back in the yard😂

2/ Fire dept welfare checked us. We're on the list because of my mobility, feeding tube, etc.

We have a whole-house generator. Power outages isn't an issue.

If things don't come back on, Penny will setup a table with a microwave, coffee pot and college type fridge on the porch for the neighbors like we always do.

The DNC nomination is scheduled after the long-standing deadline.

The law would create an exception to allow presidential and vice presidential candidates to be certified by their respective political parties after Ohio’s deadline (which generally requires certification 90 days before the election), so long as the parties notify the Ohio Secretary of State that they will be late.

645 days after setting up my own Mastodon instance, I finally tackled tuning my Postgres database config last wk & today setup multiple Sidekiq Processes after my queue got to 10K for the second time this wk

I read the guides multiple times over those 645 days but it never clicked in my head. I was afraid to mess with Sidekiq because I didn't want to brick my instance.

Then today, during the thunderstorm, the old grey cells clicked in and I understood.

Queue cleared up quickly

I did some tweaking since I wrote that, but I left the original mastodon-sidekiq.service enabled, which I copied as my template, so it still does the scheduler, mailers and ingress, plus I have an ingress with 25 threads.

I am basically single user instance, so, I hope I am pushing my server out before I pull (mostly federated) stuff in.😉 Can you confirm that is how it is?

I'll be honest. I am using my ElasticSearch powered Mastodon search more than Google, et al, now.

I followed 's relay, which adds a lot of content from their magazines that link to sites as well as some other relays. I think they are the culprit for my now fixed long pull queues. Today there was no backlog. First time since I followed their relay.

Soon I'll need to work on database optimization, which will probably move it from this server.
