#BikeStreak, Day 63: A quick and e-assist-heavy midnight round to the recycling yard and back to see which paths are suitable for riding with a bicycle trailer.

Saw the #VBZ #CargoTram at the recycling yard. It's most well-known use is to collect hazardous and bulky waste (in small amounts) inside the city and bringing it to the recycling yard over the tramway network. So no wonder I saw it parked there.

Slight rain and 7.1km at ca. 14℃. 90m climb on the way back.

Den eigenen Account auf privat setzen, ist aber auch suboptimal, weil potenzielle neue Follower nicht sehen, ob der Inhalt des Accounts sie anspricht.

Trying out bat (the cat(1) alternative) for the first time, and … I dunno, the flushing behavior seems bonkers.

I assume it's because stdout and stderr end up in separate places, and maybe cat isn't innocent here either, but having the output split inside of an escape code (note the "31m") looks like there's something really wrong.

("bar" does not exist; that's on purpose to produce an error message.)

Anyone has an idea why for a few weeks, the #ComposeKey under #X11 on #Debian Unstable (set via "setxkbmap -option compose:menu -option compose:rwin -option compose:rctrl -option compose:ralt") suddenly only works if I release it before pressing the first key of the wanted key combo?

If you see e.g. a "a instead of an ä from me, it's because I was used to already press " before I released the Compose Key. Very annoying and happens far too often. 🤬

#30DaysOfBiking, Day 21: Took part in the mass bicycle tour #slowUp #Ticino (https://slowup.ch/ticino/) with the #Brompton. I rode 52.4km according to the Garmin GPS. Officially it's a 50km round course between #Locarno and #Bellinzona. Took me 4h45min including all breaks. Needed the e-assist more often than expected due partially hefty wind. It had around 15 degrees C, though. So temperature-wise it was a comfortable ride. There were surely several thousand cyclists taking part in the event.
