Omega Expedition Aftermath (lemmy.world)
Did you keep playing once you completed the Omega Expedition?...
Did you keep playing once you completed the Omega Expedition?...
Note: This is NOT the rewards eggs. These three eggs are from critters that I found out in the wild, fed, petted and looked after until they were ready to drop an egg. Only it’s not letting me transfer any companion eggs, regardless of the source....
Atlantid Multi-tools can only be obtained if you have already...
The Expedition desk in the Anomaly is pretty slick, but if you collect stuff with wild abandon during an expedition (don't we all?) you will have some interesting questions to answer at the end!...
PSA if you use the Anomaly desk to start the expedition from your main save:...
I decided to start a new save and forgo the new expedition feature in the Anomaly. I feel like part of the fun is starting from scratch and finding shortcuts to get units, complete milestones, etc. Plus I often play my expedition saves even after the expedition is over....

The 4.5 Omega Update is out...
Welcome to No Man’s Sky OMEGA, version 4.5 The OMEGA update invites everybody to embark upon a new shared interstellar expedition. Featuring a complete overhaul of expeditions, new on-planet missions, claimable pirate freighters, and much more!...
I’ve been playing NMS for a long time so I’m no stranger to updates destroying my bases, but I’m used to it happening during major updates. This came out of no where....
elizabethtasker, to NoMansSkyGame I'm playing #NMS in #Steam #VR on a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 and... it is struggling!
It's running on a Razer Blade laptop I bought second hand to experience with PCVR and computer graphics, but I'm still a Mac user for work. This makes me reluctant to buy a powerful new PC as it feels rather excessive just for gaming... uh, on this particular game...!
I was thinking of getting an eGPU, but the cost is also pretty high once you throw in a Razer Core X or similar casing 🤔 Thoughts?

I tend to not hear about expeditions until it’s too late… does anyone know of a way to get email or push notifications for upcoming expeditions?
Down to my last task (“Hot Blooded”). Even though there wasn’t much plot in Voyagers, this was one of my favourite Expeditions the first time around. I remember the first time around, I got stuck on finding a suitably hostile world, but I think in this Redux, the “Eternal Garden” (paradise world), “Unwelcome”...
elizabethtasker, (edited ) to NoMansSkyGame I made it to the "Anomaly" in No Man's Sky #NMS! With my GPU struggling, I tried out PlutoSphere, which lets you run PC #VR games on a cloud gaming computer.
But disaster struck!
Once my tokens for PlutoSphere were exhausted, the machine automatically shutdown and booted me out. This was expected BUT I assumed the save would be automatically uploaded to the cloud. It was not 😱 . Apparently, upload timing is erratic, so you have to manually push the upload when using PlutoSphere. SIGH.
elizabethtasker, (In case anyone was wondering what I did about this loss of game data: I sucked it up and repeated the--fortunately just 1 hour--session on my struggling but brave laptop. But #NMS randomises basically... everything... so I ended up having to complete my quest on a way rougher planet where I was hunted down by evil senitels, which was difficult as I am NEW and WEAK. But. Success. Here is a image of my friend lounging on my spacecraft's wing. I took off and he fell off 🤣)
elizabethtasker, to NoMansSkyGame I've fallen into "No Man's Sky"! I made it to the space station, and have selected an avatar that truly resembles what I look like... on the inside.
I now have a glowing ball for a head, which seems to be held in place by rotating electromagnets. Magnificent!
#NMS was created for PC but the #VR adaption (which I'm playing) is not at all bad. It's really... quite... addictive. I played for 4 hours and I'm eying my battery and wondering if I could hop on for a few minutes... before... bed...
elizabethtasker,
elizabethtasker, We set off to find a new planet to build neighbouring bases in #NMS. No Man's Sky actually generates planets procedurally, giving a near limitless number of permutations. A large number were thus summarily dismissed due to not really feeling the grass colour...
As I'm a newbie with poor equipment and poorer shooting skills (I will note that's a bit of an issue in #VR), my more understandable vote was for a planet low in hazards such as radiation, storms and rampaging sentinels.
Maybe... here!
Planet at night where you can see the planet rings in the sky.

chris, to NoMansSkyGame 🚀 I made it just in time and got my first S-Class ship! - Also my first real starship after the starter shipwreck. Just finished the Cartographer Redux event in No Man's Sky and really enjoyed it 🤩
The expedition was like a long and rewarding tutorial mission, I have learned a lot. I tried the game a few years ago but bounced off for some reason. Gave it another try and now I can't stop exploring. Such a beautiful game.

Screenshot from the game No Man's Sky: the alien-like player character has big eyes, two horns and a heavy, big body type in a purple space suit. A large yellow symbol in the middle of the screen marks the achievement "Expedition complete" Expedition #3 Redux Cartographers - Reward: Golden Vector starship.

I'm still pretty new to the game. I've tried two of the expeditions—Utopia this month and I believe Singularity earlier this year—but didn't make it very far through either (via a combination of not starting them early enough and, for Singularity, barely knowing how to play the game). I don't have a lot of time over the...
I started my save within an hour of the expedition going live. And spawned in a storm, with multiple hostile critters. I died twice in two minutes, deleted the cursed save, and tried again. Did better, but fell into a cave system killing critters (with a mining laser), and got lost… before I could build the Terrain...
Light No Fire looks incredible, while I trust Hello Games have learned not to overhype their game too hard. I’m going to remain rationally optimistic. I do very much want this to be an incredible game, but ive been stung by the hypetrain too much to know to never be excited by a trailer....
