Reverendender, to usa in A Hidden Threat | Fast-rising seas could swamp septic systems in parts of the South

Fast-rising seas could definitely are going to (and much sooner than anyone wants to admit) swamp septic systems in parts of the South

silence7,

Pretty much. But it hasn’t happened yet, so the editors force “could” instead of “will”

What the US needed was a pull-out-the-stops wartime operation. What we got was a lot of hot air and heel-dragging excuses. After all of these years, it’s more than clear what side our ‘leadership’ is beholding to.

silence7,

We had proposals for much better legislation than we got — but not one Republican would vote for it, so we needed to get Joe Manchin, an actual coal baron, to decide what he’d be willing to accept.

I remember going to soflo, Miami beach area in 2018 and the streets were overflowing with salt water. You know those rectangular drains on the sides of roads under sidewalks? it was coming out of there. You’d think they would care more about the environment in that state but I guess not. Oh well, that’s why I left. The woods I used to hang out in are now also perma-vacant single family homes.

Ephera, to climate in Meteorologist rebukes DeSantis for scrubbing climate change from state law: ‘Florida is on fire’

The world is looking to Florida to lead in climate change, and our government is saying that climate change is no longer the priority it once was

At the very least, I would expect them to want to talk about it, loudly. They’re one of the places most strongly affected by draughts, hurricanes and a rising sea level.

Don’t say fire or flood law coming.

In the future economists will look back and use this as a good example of supply v demand.

Inb4 EV charging costs go up so much the EV game gets nuked from the power of (lack of ) the sun

Lol.

I can’t even imagine owning a house nevermind land to have a charger on nevermind affording an electric vehicle.

NewNewAccount,

Are you early career?

hperrin,

Electric cars have come down a lot in price.

glitch1985,

When I totalled my hybrid the ev replacement was less than $2k more (and without the drama of negotiations with the dealership)

Unattainable? No.

Not with a fascist government on board.
