My fan fic series "Love Live! New Melody Project!!" isn't just canon Love Live characters. There's also quite a few important original characters, including a whole set of teens being school idols alongside the stories of the adult Love Live women. It's easy enough to picture older versions of canon characters, but I've always wished that you could see the OC girls as I imagined them.
Well, now you can, thanks to the incredible work of artist Amber Dill. She reached out to me about bringing the New Melody Project teens to life, and I was very excited to make it happen! I've been keeping this under wraps until it was done, and now, I can share with you her amazing work!
Say hello to the girls of New Melody Project - Saeko, Narumi, Hikari, and Miyuki!
Good morn! I'm getting on a plane tomorrow and might not have time for this, so the Morning Love Live today is a thematically appropriate Wonderful Rush!
@chikorita157 Yeah this was definitely only released because they had to. I wish we could get an inside look at what went on in the global team. Some things are easily explained by the shutdown, like the LP candies expiring immediately (their expiration date was set to the same date they expired on JP in December, so they were likely just copy-pasting event/Free Tour stuff, probably because they changed the content release schedule because of EOS.) But I wonder how bigger glitches like the hourly glitch happened. Also gotta wonder what development's been like even farther back, for global to have been delayed for so long. When did they realize that they were working on a dead game, and did that make things much worse? I have so many questions about what I imagine must've been a pretty hellish project to work on.
@yon@chikorita157 Yeah, it's unfortunate. I feel like the global team cared about the game; clearly a lot of effort went into things like translations. (All the song descriptions alone must've been a huge effort.) And, I suspect that they changed the schedule for content releases after EOS was announced, since we're getting later events from JP, and special gacha banners not in JP that have older event cards, so they found a way to get as much content from JP to global as possible in its short lifespan. It's nice that they bothered to think that through, even as the whole game got killed from above. Must really suck to put all that effort in, and then it'll all be gone in a few months. :akko_sad:
This may be the shortest service of a Gacha game yet. The global version of Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 Miracle Live! is set to launch in February 2024, but end in May 2024.
This is just super embarrassing. As mentioned, Love Livers are dunking on KLab over this decision. Only 3 months for global before they shut down the game. Are they serious? :zerotwoevillaugh:
From what I heard, SIF2 is just SIF1, but with an interface upgrade, but it’s the same game from the 2010s when they are like the only game in town. That is until Bang Dream, Idolmaster, Project Sekai came along and they are still doing well.
this is a new one. global version of a love live game announced to be launching soon... and shutting down not long after. in the same post
edit: apparently the japanese version is also shutting down so I imagine there is probably some contractual obligation to release, but oof, still a bad look
