Learned today that Belfast City Council gave planning permission for three apartment blocks on the waters edge at the Titanic Building. So the view of the Titanic Building across the water from Clarendon Dock will soon be no more. And more importantly, visitors to the Titanic Building will now have a view of apartments rather than central Belfast.
@ianRobinson It’s hard to understand why they’d hide such a distinctive building. But then again we never did get the people’s Lagan side park around The Waterfront Hall, instead we got glassy boxes of offices.
The farce of commercial interest in the #Titanic is itself film worthy. Aliens will point to examples like this as to why we shouldn’t be allowed to exist; humans are just so cringe
It’s like a dark comedy, except it’s real tragedy being mocked. If we can turn pirates into loveable rogues, I genuinely wonder how soon it will be until the same happens with a certain WWII force of evil
