Have you got a cute account name, with emojis, and symbols.
Here's what it sounds like..
They probably aren't using #AltText either? That's their screen name, and Hello.. listen to it every reply?
Cute for sighted people.
Did anyone think of how screen readers, for visually impaired, read your replies? If you did, blind people might reply to you, if a simple Hello wasn't so untenable?

I have some emojis. I use some in my texts as well. But I did ask screen reader users about it. They said that if it wasn't too much, all the time, it wasn't a big issue. But people who post loads of emojis again and again, they make the screen reading apps for wild.
I try to remember with my usage of the emojis and I always try to add the best Alt text. I don't want to exclude anyone from using Masto to the best abilities.
@PixysJourney thanks for that. It's not that they ruin the show, in moderation, but I remember when I shortened my screen name to save 19 characters of the 140, in each reply. That I could see. What I didn't see, was "@Rasta music mushroom trees Navy cat: good morning " being read every reply, so I stopped doing that. I get confused when someone alters their name to Jingle Bells for a season.

You're very welcome. And I totally get it. 😊 That's why I asked some friends who use screen readers if they were bothered by the emojis. I wish to make their experiences good as well. But I do like expressing myself with an emoji here or there. Also because I feel they express my feelings better at times than I can do with my words. If that makes any sense...
@PixysJourney I'm sighted, and I don't get emojis at all. I never used them on PC, since that's primarily my online presence and only recently have I added some EXTENSION that lets PC users add Emojis. I still use the POOP emoji as the default for OK< read that LOL
ICONs also confuse me. I always use the FILE-MENU not the ICON menu (IE: PRINT vs 🖨️)
I tried shortening my profile with interests, but when I looked at it, it was just garbage too.
I dislike one emoji replies.
