50th birthday today. I wish I had some hard-earned wisdom to share, discovered in so many laps around the sun. The truth is I’m still figuring things out myself.

@Lee6 Deferring some celebrations, as we're setting off on a week-long tour of colleges for my eldest on his spring break.

Will be celebrating some this weekend and then later we have some pretty great LFC tickets for this summer, when they're in the US.

@mlawton HBD. Just celebrated 40 myself last weekend.

I tell my son all the time "It's so hard to learn how to be a person. Look at me, I'm still learning."

I've had that same conversation! As my kids age and I've recalled my own childhood as they go through the various rites of passage, it's been revelatory to realize how much my parents were just winging it. Made them more human and my appreciation grow all the more for it.
