@britt I thought that Duotangs were still pretty common. Hmm, interesting. I used them in school in the 70s and 80s, and I think my kids even used them in the 00's (maybe not?)?
@britt Had them in the 70s...not to worry. Often used as report covers that were heavy paper on the outside with metal fasteners inside with perfectly placed holes to enclose your foolscap paper essay or project.

@McRocker@britt I just knew them as a brand name of report cover, which is all we called them in Philly (though my dad would say "jacket" instead of "cover", and I blame his time in the Coast Guard for that).
@McRocker I should edit and clarify my post, I know what they are and used them in school… but I just didn’t know that’s what Canadians call them. :) I’m from the U.S. originally.
