(AP) - Emergency crews have rushed away a person on a stretcher after a fire was extinguished outside the New York courthouse where jury selection was taking place in Donald Trump’s hush money criminal case. A person could be seen lying on the ground on fire.
"The man doused himself with a liquid around 1:35 p.m. in Collect Pond Park, across the street from the courthouse. Onlookers screamed as bright orange flames engulfed the man. It was unclear what motivated his action," reported the New York Times. "People rushed over to try to extinguish the fire, but the intensity of the heat could be felt several hundred feet away."
Just before self-immolating, the man threw into the air pamphlets that, according to the NY Times, "referenced former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Al Gore and the lawyer David Boies, who represented Mr. Gore in the 2000 presidential election recount."
@markmetz@Hey_Beth@w7voa I read it expecting him to be a Trump supporter, but I ended up agreeing with him on some overall points about the state of the world and politics. However, he comes to really bizarre conclusions about almost the causation of almost everything, like how The Simpsons were deliberately created by a billionaire cult at Harvard to make Americans accept their fate.
