Just trying to imagine if people a few hundred years ago had been here to witness, in the span of a few weeks, an eclipse, an earthquake, a supernova as bright as the North Star, and an unexpected appearance of the northern lights.

Everyone keeps pointing out that it’s just a nova, not a supernova, and that it hasn’t happened yet, but I feel like every nova is super in its heart

@potch @anildash yeah, when was that?

T Coronae Borealis (T CrB) nova is thought to go before September 2024, but that is not a supernova.
