What is the most recent app you've installed?

No cherry-picking your favourites here - honest answers only! 😉

Let me know below ⤵

Mine is 'Mission Center' - a GTK4/libadwaita system monitor.

@omgubuntu also available on Flatpak on Flathub :)

@ronny@metalhead.club avatar

@omgubuntu where I just saw that... :D

pugdev,

@omgubuntu very similar to task manager

Jain,
@Jain@blob.cat avatar

@omgubuntu :blobcatgooglynotlikethis: inspired by M$

MagicLike,
@MagicLike@mstdn.social avatar

@Jain @omgubuntu but it is more clearly laid out than the default Ubuntu one (at least for the PC activity) - AND includes an option to see the GPU activity! Nice thing, instantly installed :blobhappy:

tomschroeder,

@MagicLike @Jain @omgubuntu I think Cockpit is underrated for this purpose, especially if you use Linux as a desktop workstation like I do. I like being able to access these types of stats from my laptop or phone, and appreciate the ability to stop or start VMs from a web interface.

jmcourtiade,

@omgubuntu it looks like Windows 11's equivalent?

@omgubuntu
redact (https://redact.dev/) - was cleaning up my old reddit & twitter timelines. No sense leaving that stuff behind for them.

Mission Center looks very pretty, certainly prettier than top/htop/glances/s-tui 🤣 - maybe a little too modelled on the Win equivalent but will take it for a spin.

thehubbi,

@omgubuntu huh, looks neat, and awfully familiar 😉

nima,
@nima@mstdn.social avatar

@omgubuntu I think it was gnome subtitles, for making Persian subtitles for my English videos :)))

lxalln,

@omgubuntu Thunderbird beta. I was being impatient. I wanted to try 115, but it hadn't made it to the Arch repo yet, so installed 116b from the AUR.

mousey,
@mousey@seattlematrix.org avatar

@omgubuntu neofetch

wint3rmut3,

@omgubuntu Google Chrome. I tried to fix blurry rendering on HiDpi screen with 200% scaling on Ubuntu 23.04. Unfortunately, no luck.

@DrewNaylor@mastodon.online avatar

@omgubuntu I think that would be VS Code on my PineTab 2 (except I just extracted it to a folder because there are a few extensions I want to be sure I have).

omgubuntu,
@omgubuntu@floss.social avatar

@DrewNaylor Ooh, how is the PineTab 2 in action?

DrewNaylor,
@DrewNaylor@mastodon.online avatar

@omgubuntu Surprisingly decent despite the current lack of a working Wi-Fi driver as long as the slow clock speed is taken into consideration (even though it's really not that bad of performance, particularly compared to the PinePhone). The keyboard is also really nice to type on, and the touchpad is important right now as touch sometimes doesn't register toward the edges of the display. Not sure exactly what's causing it, but the lockscreen on boot is rotated 90°. No sleep yet.

omgubuntu,

linkert,
MarkoHelgenko,

@omgubuntu It's like , but it stores everything on the computer, not in the cloud. We have air raids in Kyiv sometimes, and last winter we had blackouts because the Russians were bombing power plants and substations.

omgubuntu,
@omgubuntu@floss.social avatar

@MarkoHelgenko Obsidian looks great

raztro,

@omgubuntu Tokodon

brucehankins,

Aranjedeath,

@omgubuntu KOrganizer! I needed proper calendaring software because my life is approaching the complexity where it can only be scheduled to manage it all

textovervideo,
@textovervideo@fosstodon.org avatar

@omgubuntu

I installed the flatpak version of Konversation, the KDE application dedicated to connecting and managing IRC.

roman78,

@omgubuntu OpenRA, I tried some games and got stuck at this one. Looks like the classic RedAlert but runs on a 21:9 monitor.
