#ExtremeHeat is common in May. But not in April and March, both of which were the hottest across much of India for more than a century.

In the short term, experts say #India has no choice but to burn #coal to keep #fans and #ACs on. But in the long term, it must transition to #Renewables, to avoid a vicious circle of warming. #BurningPlanet #ClimateCrisis #ClimateChange

@Neoresistant

Found my copy of 3D Game Alchemy, a 1996 tome on building levels for classic Doom engine games. It's over 700 pages. There's a lot of information on all fundamental aspects of building Doom levels. It comes with a CD with outdated tools and hundreds of wads that probably suck and a graphics library of 350 Doom-ready images. I wonder if anyone has used these graphics to make anything significant. It's available on the Internet archive: https://archive.org/details/3-d-game-alchemy-for-doom-doom-ii-heretic-and-hexen_202309

back cover of book with screenshots of editors, custom levels and included graphics library
the overview, like a mini table of contents, with the chapters broken down into "episodes"
the rest of the overview

The CD is also on the archive: https://archive.org/details/3dGameAlchemy

It contains a 56 page PDF on Hexen stuff they decided not to include in the printed portion, including a description of ACS (scripting language used by Hexen and expanded in GZDoom).

Decompiled some from a 2004 map yesterday, in an attempt to help a fellow mapper improve a script that fakes a rotating ceiling fan.

On the one hand, I learned the basics of how to use , but on the other... the decompiled was such a complex, unreadable mess that it was practically useless.
