Popping in to celebrate that the #Vermont#RealEstateCoop purchased our first multi-family apartment building at the end of 2023!
We'll be spending the next few months getting the systems in place to be a residential property manager (we already had a commercial space), then starting to scan the market for opportunities to grow our mutual housing snowball...
Save the date. March 2nd, 2024 at noon. Don't let them fool you. The average American is closer to being unhoused than they are to being a millionaire. Fighting poverty is literally a matter of our own survival.
For people following the shooting of three Palestinian-American college students in Burlington, Vermont last night, VTDigger is a reliable independent local news source and it looks like they’re updating this story
The fun of a dry-erase globe is that you can draw out your flight plan, something I have been doing ever since our girls were young. Today’s travel is from #BTV (in #Vermont ) to Nashville, Tennessee, by way of Newark, NJ.
Had the mind-boggling experience of traveling from our home in Shelburne all the way up Route 7, over I-189, and Kennedy Drive to the #BTV airport ** without having a single red light!! **
Granted, it was 4:25am... 😀
(For context, there are what seems like 293* stop lights on Route 7 that inevitably always turn red when you want to go quickly.)
Amazing 2024 solar eclipse interactive from the ever-talented @awoodruff - heads up to the folks in #btv#vermont and #mtl, we're getting a total overpass.
I had planned to go closer to the #BTV waterfront tonight to see the new drone show and the usually amazing fireworks that can be seen from all around the Burlington area.
But those plans ran straight into the cold, hard reality that in the last 72 hours, my wife and I drove around 1,040 miles to New Brunswick, Canada, and back to see our oldest daughter where she is living now. We’re tired!
Maybe next year! (And some year I want to see them from a boat! Need to find a friend with a boat! 😃)
It's our last week of selling for Spring/Mother's Day brunch bags, and I hope we do well after a 3-year pandemic hiatus. Such a good fundraiser.
Local products from local food makers, all assembled into cute bags and delivered door to door on Mother's Day morning by an army of volunteers, usually with their cute kiddos ringing the doorbells and handing over the bags.
Some people buy them for the moms in their lives, some buy for other loved ones, and even some buy bags to be donated to our local aid organizations--various shelters and also a lodge that houses out-of-town folks receiving cancer care. The donated bags are usually purchased in honor of someone who lives out of town or out of state; they get a nice post card saying a bag was donated in their honor.
It's one of the most fun and heartwarming things I get to do all year; I'm so glad we're back to doing it. #burlingtonvt#vermont#btv
