I just saw a commercial on a major American television network that told me to set my #DVR for an upcoming episode of… it’s 2024!
Please tell me it’s 2024 & I haven’t hit a time ripple that has me back to the time of TiVo and DVR!
Why the fuck is any network talking about DVR in 2024!?
The same fucking network just forced an #NFL playoff game onto their #streaming platform! And the next night, they want me to set my DVR to record an episode of America’s Got Talent of all shows!?
@mikey that's exactly how I feel. I was raised on reruns of #TNG and #TOS, and when I was home with a cold in elementary school, I would watch 3 hours of Star Trek programming on SpikeTV, an episode of TNG, #DS9, and #VOY shown in the afternoon. When we got a #DVR for the first time, my mom and I set up automatic recording for every star trek thing we could. But as I became a teen it started being on reruns less and less and less, so I shifted into Star Wars right as #Disney bought #Lucasfilm.
STOP Paying for TV and cut the Cord for good. I haven't paid for OTA TV in over a decade, and neither should you. I made a guide on how to build your own DVR with Plex, Inc. for their Pro Week!
Anybody here an expert in #CCTV setups? Is there a way to connect analog cameras to an #NVR? I bought a used NVR and POE Switch to upgrade, but our current setup has analog cameras connected to a #DVR.
Sitting here & I'm still pissed that #Charter#Spectrum#cableTV is going to stop supporting #CableCards. I've used cable cards for decades with DVR equipment I own
Now they want to force me to rent their equipment & pay for #DVR service
Plus, I no longer will have a copy of the #TVshows or #movies I record on my local computer & media server
This makes me angry, esp since I don't live in an area that gets OTA signals. None. Not one Over the air #TV station, even with an #antenna 30 feet high
