The #israelis, the #americans and other backers of the #israeli religious war in #gaza let the world forget that the #icj in July 2004 referred in its ruling to Art. 51 of the #un #charter which you can read in the second text image in full with comment.

We would add:

Israelis have been a war belligerent since 1967 as they never lifted the declaration of war, and never signed peace with the country it is occupying: #palestine

Peace would also mean to make an end to the occupation.

I have a feeling the is going to regret how transparent they were in drafting to specifically target Muslim women who covered their heads by this afternoon.

The previous court ruling in a separate, unrelated litigation determined that the law was unambiguously and specifically targeted against Muslim women.

That last word is what matters.

Gender discrimination in application of the cannot be shielded by a notwithstanding clause.

Today the UK government has signed a Hillsborough Charter, promising that no family will suffer the same injustices as those involved in the 1989 disaster.

For the 20th anniversary in 2009, Sue McGregor brought together a group of people who were there. It's a remarkable conversation.

Pierre Poilievre is under fire after a video surfaced of a homophobic and transphobic speech.

2SLGBTQIA+ community leaders are denouncing the Conservative leader’s speech accusing Justin Trudeau of imposing “radical gender ideology” on children.

Worth remembering that not even the Emergencies Act, which righties assure us is the worst rights violation ever in the history of time, overrode people’s rights.

Way too many people in this country have clearly never actually read the .

Section 33, the notwithstanding clause, is not a total constitutional black hole. It has very clear limitations, and, despite federal hesitance to use them, multiple constitutional remedies.

Start by reading the table of contents and sections 1 and 33 if you don’t want to read the whole thing (though everyone should).

Light listening over Zoom... I have been trying to keep one part of one eye on this Charter Challenge happening in relation to Proportional Representation in Canada. You can connect to the Zoom link using the information in the screenshot from Fair Vote Canada. The lawyer arguing that the Charter is being violated just said: ”By adopting First Past the Post it [the Elections Act] has the effect of depressing the vote of women.”
"It's clear that FPTP suppresses the vote of women”
"It's clear that multi member districts contribute to greater representation for women”
This is a very important charter challenge for our democracy!

Sitting here & I'm still pissed that is going to stop supporting . I've used cable cards for decades with DVR equipment I own

Now they want to force me to rent their equipment & pay for service

Plus, I no longer will have a copy of the or I record on my local computer & media server

This makes me angry, esp since I don't live in an area that gets OTA signals. None. Not one Over the air station, even with an 30 feet high

When John Snobelen, the Minister of Education during the Mike Harris years, was caught on tape saying he wanted to create a crisis in education to then break it, it cost the the government.

Years later, rather than create stability, the lesson the Doug Ford government has learned is - do not say your plans out loud.

Conservatives know that if voters actually knew their plan, they would never be elected.

I live in a 100% Over-the-Air tv signal dead zone.

Can't pickup any tv stations. Must rely on streaming or cable, at a cost. Have 15 channels plus local, smallest package

Now, is canceling support for , which I use to record my local TV stations via my device for free

I am now forced to pay for my local TVS, DVR recordings, etc, and won't even have a copy to keep of certain recordings

This is not fair. The is screwing the pooch
