Long, long ago in its wisdom our local council decided to out-source the rubbish collection. Now you can choose from 3 ,or to my knowledge, maybe 4 companies that provide collection of rubbish and recycling. That means on rubbish day there are at least 6 diesel trucks, 1 for rubbish, 1 for the recycling, going up and down our roads. That has to be great for the environment, and it is no cheaper, the rubbish collection charges go up every 6 months.

Problem with having coffee in a cafe that's a bar at night - they have a habit of turning up the music too loud. Just asked for it to be turned down a bit, like the #GrumpyOldMan I now am.

I have just tried to pay for two items from two different websites using a BNZ VISA card, and have been unable to do so because I refuse to use the BNZ Mobile App. It is required as part of an extended 2FA. I am looking at moving to another supplier of credit cards anyone else had this problem?
The medical centre I attend has just put their fees up again. The second time this year. It will now cost me NZ$63 for 15 minutes. And they mean 15 minutes! Where is the opportunity to fully discuss your health issues and get a proper holistic approach to care.
Also it takes at least 2 weeks to get an appointment. All urgent care must be through the hospital A&E. No wonder they are always overrun with patients.
WTF is it with modern "developers" that everything has to be a damn docker container now?
Even some RPi projects, where you burn an SD card with a full blown OS on it, then fire up a docker instance for the application. Why? It's running on a dedicated machine ffs.

I’m not vegan or vegetarian. In general I don’t eat pizza or hamburgers and have never spent a day barbecuing a brisket or similar. Am unable to code. I carefully avoid science fiction or fantasy. I’m not a gamer and don’t play board games. Don’t find xkcd funny. I’m not a paid up member of a fringe political party and don’t get angry often. I spend a lot of time watching sport.
Frankly, I’m amazed that I’m even ALLOWED on social media.
Maybe someone can explain this. I"m being serious, not sarcastic. What is the fascination with gossip about the personal lives of celebrities? Marriage, divorce, etc. What exactly is the fascination? For some reason, the example that popped into my head is a relatively older one - Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Remember that? I bring it up ONLY as an example.
What's the fascination? Is it escapism? A bonding experience with other people over a drama being played out in public? What am I missing?
