Priscilla (2023)

I loved Elvis when I saw it in theaters − not because I like the guy, just because I love, love, love Baz Luhrmann's style.

I have not watched nearly enough Sofia Coppola, and Priscilla felt like a first. It was so soft, so subdued, and yet so gripping and dark. What an excellent movie this was, as quiet as it is.

If you wash and dry a load of laundry, you also have to be prepared to fold it, and put it away. It's not really helping otherwise.

@RickiTarr This was honestly the biggest message that came through to me from the movie, "Everything Everywhere All At Once" If I really love my partner, I should be willing to continue doing his laundry FOREVER! 🥺

Civil War (2024)

I wish I hadn't seen Alex Garland being a centrist shithead in interviews about this, because I liked it quite a bit

Not an apolitical movie, but a focused on the role of press and media. I wish it had gotten into the war motives more explicitly but it felt a conscious choice to explore imagery and the press. Not subtle about who's who in the war, anyway

upper Garland tier along with Ex Machina. A-
