Picking fallen oranges on the tall grass. Having to shave the grass to the orange level just to find them all. If I’m not careful I get orange juice mist 😆
Cardiologist appointment went very well yesterday. My 🩸 tests have improved a lot. I’m down 8lbs (~3.5 kg) too. We’ve agreed that when my knee improve I need to try and walk backwards on the treadmill - the #KneesOverToesGuy method.
Good morning from #Pasadena. So thrilled to have made much progress yesterday with the fence. All posts are permanently secured to the steel clamps with carriage bolds. Totally solid! I don't mean to brag, but I'm so thrilled everything fits perfectly with almost no cutting or adjustments.

Good morning from #Pasadena. ⛅️ & 17°c (63°F) today but with 🌧️ coming tomorrow, I decided to secure the eaves through aka gutter with screws rather than nails because it was sagging creating a small space for the water to run straight down off the roof in some places.
Now off to scan my old photos, something I started yesterday and really enjoying. I have loads of them and I’ll now be able to look at them more easily. I get the feeling I have about 200,000 photos (digital and paper) altogether, but time will tell.

The satsumas are changing colour very fast now that our nights are turning colder. Last night our low was 7°c (44°F) so for us this is Winter weather already! Beautiful weather to get a lot of gardening done! 😃 I’ll take winter over Summer anytime here!
Second #TJMaxx in the #SanGabrielValley (one in #LaCanada; the other in #Pasadena) that doesn't have #Hanukkah merchandise. Managers at both places said they hadn't received any #menorahs, #candles (not even the #chocolate, said one!) this year. Anyone else have this experience? No one with whom I've spoken has been able to explain why, after all these years of carrying these items, #TJMaxx is no longer doing so.
Good morning fr #Pasadena. Omg! Where have I been the last 5 days?! #HyperFocus has a way of making time fly, especially if I’m busy gardening and on top of that a multi-day storm is said to be coming. 🙀 😆 But hyper focus is also confusing 🫤
Winter has more or less arrived for us it looks like. We had a good amount of rain yesterday and despite day 2-3 of the storm being revised to 🌤️ day 4 is still tentatively scheduled.
Today, I’d hoped to continue on (re-)potting plants and succulent cuttings but I must get more pots & potting soil first.
Here is a plant that fell over when branches pruned off the big tree fell on it. For potted plants, especially bushy ones, I now use tri/quad-pod support I make out of ribs from #DatePalm fronds. Works incredibly well at preventing various plants from toppling so far! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 Here, I’m using them to straighten a #EuphorbiaGrantii aka #AfricanMilkBush, a native from #EastAfrica
Good morning fr #Pasadena. A slower day today hopefully. Garden is all watered so I will try to finish my fence plans/quote today so I can discuss it with my neighbor this weekend.
Yesterday, I decided to try the #oranges from what I call my OJ tree which grows the juiciest, seeded, very low-pulp oranges. Still very tart, but nonetheless delicious. Each orange yields 1/2 cup atm. It’s still very early for that tree. All my other varieties are still green because we haven’t had a lot of cold yet. Most oranges should be ripe within 2 months but my OJ variety can sometime make me wait several more months for the sweetest juice.
The weekend is also here so I’m wishing everyone a great 2 days off. And if you’re in Canada/US don’t forget to switch back to #DST at 2am Sunday!! 🙄

My neighbor was dog-sitting his daughter’s & her partner’s dog over the weekend. An #IcelandicSheepDog, he is absolutely adorable and the most intense kisser I have EVER seen. Just a bundle of pure #CanineLove

Good morning from #Pasadena. Cool with ⛅️ conditions today & 20°c (68°F). That’s about 7°c or 13°F below average so if you’re broiling in the north, it’s our heat you’re bothered by, though I’m quite happy without it.
It’s almost time for #AndyTheTortoise to start his very long nap until spring 2024 when he will emerge a young 103 years old. 😆 I aim at Oct 31 to start his brumation give or take a week to allow for possible warm or cold spells which can advance or delay things a little. But I think he’s almost ready.
I got up at 3:45am but I’m going a little slow because last time I checked it was drizzling 🌧️ out so I’m not sure what things will be like when it’s finally light outside. Hopefully dry as I had planned to continue working on cleaning the driveway in prep for fence construction.
Good morning fr #Pasadena. Omg what a change in weather in temps starting today. Still 🌤️ but a high of only 21°c (70°F.) How perfect is that?!! I even slept in after 4am both to celebrate and because we have a dog play date early afternoon at a neighbor’s so no time to catch up on 💤 sleep later.
Haven’t quite firmed up my schedule outside dog-play but if today is like other days there should be no problem coming up with an overflowing to-do list 😂

On the work front, more of the same today: feeding #AndyTheTortoise, some watering, entertaining dogs, making beef-treats to spoil #FridaTheBasset & help her feel better, cooking lentils & quinoa, plus chicken breasts, to make dog food & more drawing ✍️ fences or trying to design a fence which will provide both privacy & style (hopefully mission or craftsman.) Psychotherapy in the afternoon; first in almost 3 weeks.
Even though I was able to look at the news yesterday without a major impact on my mood, I think I’m going to skip that today just to be on the safe side.
