So I watched the new #RoadHouse today. It's been a long time since I've seen the original, and it's not like I'm under the impression it was great filmmaking or anything.
This Road House, while an entertaining violence-filled movie, was disappointing to me in two really big ways: the fights, and Conor McGregor.
@cliffwade I don't really know anything about him as a person. I'm not into MMA or boxing or any of that stuff, and the machismo character that he seems to wear when I do see him doesn't particularly inspire any kind of admiration from me.
In regards to the movie I just think he's a very bad actor. There are lots of professional actors that could have played that part much more believably. I suspect he was cast primarily as a draw for the audience, which, fair enough.
I admit that the original Road House is a guilty indulgence of mine. It has more than its share of over the top 1980s cheesiness. This reboot takes over the top cringe to the next level though.
