Finished watching "The Breaking Point" last night (1950). Liked it much more than I expected, but I pretty much love all noir, so...

The last shot is heartbreaking.

The second film adaptation of 's To Have And Have Not -- the 1944 Bogart/Bacall is of course much more stylish.

I watched it on but it's apparently available at the -

I can't watch them score again. I can't watch an empty net goal. I can't watch handshakes. 82 games, winning the Jennings, only to earn the opportunity to do it again next year. The hardest cup to win. Goodnight!

up next!

If you’re a film noir fan, you’ll love RIPLEY. The beautiful black-and-white cinematography, the slow-burn suspense, and the understated acting of the stars (especially Dakota Fanning as the suspicious girlfriend) make this an instant noir classic on the same level as Double Indemnity or The Maltese Falcon.

Mistdistracted estrangement

This was meant to have a more gritty, dry-brush texture but I didn't fully commit. But I'm ok with the product anyway

There used to be a sign on the blank wall neighbouring Los Angeles' Bradbury Building that read "CANADA". When it appeared in Blade Runner in 1981, the CA had been removed leaving the word NADA. Very dark. Very noir. Very...

Rotterdam-based amateur photographer Coen de Ruiter has a great eye, with a special knack for atmospheric, low-light studies, as with this decidedly film noir-ish urban alley scene.
