Since #HBO wouldn't let me watch the latest episode of #Succession due to an inaccessible CAPTCHA, I ended up watching several episodes of the mini-series "The Last Thing He Told Me," starring Jennifer Garner on #Apple TV. Mystery build with strong female characters.
I know some hate #succession this season but some of these lines are just genius
“It’s like Jaws. If everyone in Jaws worked for Jaws.”
"Cat food Ozymandias"
“Bodega sushi? Are you insane?”
"They’re not all crypto-fascists and right-wing nut jobs. We also have some venture capital dems and centrist ghouls. Dad’s ideological range was wide.”
“Congratulations on saying the biggest number, you fucking morons.”
"Greg, do not put any more lemon water or wasabi in his eyes, OK?"
WOW. Occasional Succession guest star James Cromwell (as Ewan Roy, Logan’s brother) showed up to the funeral, strong-armed his way onto the stage, and delivered a eulogy that shook everyone to their core— me included. He fucking NAILED Logan’s personal makeup.
Penultimate episode, Cromwell just shows back up like “actually, this is MY show” — totally badass
If Orwell were around today he’d be a Succession writer.
No, seriously. #Orwell gave up on journalism to turn to allegory, because he thought fiction was more powerful and persuasive.
If he were alive now he’d be using the dominant media forms to do that fiction. He’d love the way #Succession moves its audience.
I hate to say this but there are many passionate conversations taking place on Twitter about #succession. I wish we could bring them all here. #succession#hbo
I think my favourite thing about last night's #Succession (which was traumatic, btw, are American fans okay? Do you need a hug?) is the implication that NO ONE, not even Shiv, actually voted.
Wow, that episode was difficult. So many themes, including the breakdown of norms and the influence of media, and billionaires, in the political process.
The hardest part for me was Siobhan's poor performance. She had aligned her personal advantage with the Jimenez campaign, and once that was revealed, she lost her voice. Her threats to Greg, and unwillingness to propose a deal to Nate, led to failure.
Best line of the night: "your rhymes are compelling" #Succession
I have a love and appreciation for characters who are the absolute worst and make things worse for everyone around them and I have immediately gravitated toward Tom as my favorite in #Succession so far.
I love the juxtaposition of his servile personality with the Roy family and his douchebaggery toward Greg.
