I think (I think it's Alito actually, I always confuse the two) is floating that Presidents should just pardon themselves because that has never been decided by the Supreme Court.

BECAUSE SELF PARDONS ARE LEGAL FUCKING NONSENSE

I won't be posting live updates, but I am listening with rage.

Parsing voices: Alito (maybe it was Gorsuch) and Kavanaugh were definitely interested in the "clear statement rule" which would pretty much provide blanket immunity to all criminal laws except 1-3 laws.

Barrett seemed skeptical of the immunity claims.

Jackson just is constantly on a roll so that goes without saying.

On a tangential note, I don't care how much an attorney believes in zealous advocacy for their defendants, any attorney that stands before the United States Supreme Court and argues in defense of tyranny by unelected ruler should be ostracized from the legal community and society in general.

The legal community needs to do more norm enforcement.

I think it is (I think now that voice I hear is Alito, which makes sense with how insane it all is) now that is essentially saying we cannot trust grand juries to do their job correctly.

IF THAT IS THE CASE: WHAT ABOUT NORMAL PEOPLE SUBJECT TO THEM?

There is justice for the wealthy and powerful and fuck-all for everyone else.
