At this point I am more impressed than upset by how bad the #HBO#Max app is at remembering what shows I've recently watched and where I left off
Somewhere there is a shitty #coder and a shitty #qa holding down employment in a hard economy so maybe things aren't so bad in the #tech industry after all....
AirPlay in Hotels will only be as good as the Hotel side. Streaming is almost always miserable on hotel networks. Even at nice hotels. I've basically given up and only travel with a chromecast or a phone that can plug directly into an HDMI.
I'm glad to see updates to Stage Manager, but the limitations on monitor support for iPads is starting to get silly. SO MANY people want a Surface Pro style MacBook. Artificial limits on performance between a laptop and a tablet (to ENCOURAGE consumers to own both) that business model is woefully antiquated.
Health on iPad is solid.
Makes me REALLY nervous how Google will handle the transition away from Google Fit.
This is one of the areas Apple does VERY well for continuity of data tracking.
I REALLY feel this StandBy mode is Apple getting nervous about the upcoming Pixel tablet. Apple doesn't have a good option for smart displays, and Siri doesn't handle smart speaker use as well.
NameDrop is a perfect example of how frustrating it can be to watch Google's lack of focus on features. Android devices USED to have a GREAT NFC system called "Android Beam" that could tap and share photos and contacts and calendar info.
Google dropped Beam support to focus on Nearby Share. We ALREADY HAD THIS and Google gave up on it. Now Apple LOOKS like they invented something we already left behind.
I love that we're getting a new Mac Pro, but it's hilarious that we're comparing this against the older Intel Mac Pro.
"New Computer is faster than MUCH OLDER computer!!! 🤯"
I understand the way we present this data, but Apple's performance numbers are basically useless until we see where and how these new chips outperform their predecessors.
It's been fun seeing reporters and developers on the ground at WWDC post updates and share photos on Mastodon this year instead of Twitter. Even Apple's Philip Schiller is here promoting the event.
We're going early this week so we can catch WWDC! Need your help spreading the word, so give us a share and come join the chat! https://www.twitch.tv/somegadgetguy #SGGQA 301 - PJ Pod - WWDC Pre-Show Hang Out!
