Might break down and build my time-tracking app again.
Would you be interested in such a thing?
If so, please do the poll and comment on how much you'd pay for such a thing.
It was a nice app, and I miss it. Didn't sell a lot (enough to pay for the developer license each year). Never had someone report a bug or request a feature.
It went a long while without an update, and Apple decided to remove it from the App Store (no hard feelings).
Search for "debian hamster" on DuckDuckGo and got some questionable results... which apparently, are from Bing. No, no, Bing, I was searching for "Debian Hamster" (which is a work related time tracking tool for tracking time spent on projects). Not this other search. But, SURE, let's throw LLMs at your crappy search data instead, that will fix the problem, I am sure. #Linux#SearchEngine#crappy
🚀 #annextimelog v0.10.0 marks an important milestone: it can record, delete and now also edit events! 🥳 This makes it useable as an actual time tracker/logbook and due to its flexible git annex-based metadata system even as a todo list!
> atl tr for 2h meeting with=matt,mary project=A # track a meeting
> atl mod today meeting set todo # add the todo tag we forgot
> atl ls todo # lists events marked as todo
I brainstormed what a cli time tracker based on :gitannex: #gitAnnex could look like and detail how it would improve on the issues I have with #timewarrior and #hledger#timeclock:
Before I go out and make it myself, I'll ask here if someone knows of an existing solution. I am looking for a cli time tracking solution with the following hard requirements:
conflict-resistant git-syncable plain text storage
tracking multiple simultaneous events
tags, notes
simple checkin/-out commands with some intelligence
data analysis tools built-in, at least data export
I'm using #timewarrior but it's lacking in most above regards.
Some years ago, I gave feedback about the Clockify desktop app. Yesterday, I was contacted by someone from Clockify to talk some more about the feedback, specifically regarding the auto-tracker feature.
As I had stopped using the desktop app, I instead offered to chat a bit about my Clockify Stream Deck plugin, which we the did end up doing today.
Don't forget, if you like to see some application improve, do give feedback!
⏱❗ Attention all time trackers and hourly workers!
OpenProject 13.0 (coming this summer) is about to make your life easier: Introducing the time tracking button, which enables you to effortlessly record your working hours directly in your work package. Focus on your work, not the administrative hassle!
I made a small command line tool for time tracking with absence.io. I mainly use a terminal and a text editor when I’m working so now there is no need for browser when I need to change my status.
of all the (#opensource) #timetracking software thats not supposed to work like invoiceninja i found, #pendulums seems to deliver the closest to the logic i'd like. and as many in this category, it is more or (hopefully) less abandoned – however they say that they are working on a 2.0 now, lets hope there will be more life on the project than there is on plume
